I've watched two other videos, and one was longer than this one. Both videos had me ready. Unfortunately, they were for the previous year pilot which was 3 parts different. The serpentine idler, the oil sensor in the way, and cover in the wheel well. This video has that I'm it, but you wouldn't have known. Next time, I guess I'll have to watch 10 videos before I work on these new cars.

I’m watching this 7 years later, and hopefully will get a response. Mine is a 01 ranger 4.0 SOHC it is a crank but no start. I’ve replaced the crank sensor, cam position sensor, and it still doesn’t start. Would this cause it? My dad and I think it jumped timing
@Steve4x4
@Steve4x4 Ай бұрын
@@jakelewis3561 hi, you havnt supplied enough information to answer your question with accuracy. Did you check spark? If it has spark, did you spay starting fluid down the throttle body? Is the check engine light on if yes.. what are the codes. But to answer your question.. if the timing did jump enough teeth, yes it might not start. If its one tooth then it should start but run rough. Easy way to double check is a compression test. If all the cylinders are 110psi or more.. AND they are all the same, I'd say the timing chain is NOT the issue. 1rule of diagnostics.. start with the basics first. Spark fuel, then mechanical. Good luck.

@Steve4x4
@Steve4x4 2 ай бұрын
@@cisco00079 u have a wobble or a vibration? The answer to you question is very specific on to how you answer my question. You say it only happens at 70mph... without touching the brakes? Or does it only happen when touching the brakes at 70mph? If this was my car. I'd have the tires/wheels balanced. Also you say new rotors. I have had new rotor warped out of the box... this is usually cause by mis handling when in shipping. Other item that will cause wobble... tire condition, hub being out of round, and sloppy steering - worn out tie-rods and other linkage. Good luck

I removed the carrier bearing bracket with the axle, then heated it as hot as I could get it with a mapp gas torch, and beat it off with a ball peen hammer and drift punch. I also peened the side of the carrier bracket at its thinnest point to help loosen it. It is quite beat up from the abuse, but I will reuse it anyway.

@Steve4x4
@Steve4x4 4 ай бұрын
@@SalomeRivera-y6eAs Per Pro-Demand service software, the evap vent solenoid is on the hose assembly that is behind a splash shield in the left rear tire well. The hose assembly is attached to the fuel filler hose assembly. From the drawings I see, it looks like the vent valve is not serviceable separately from the hoses. I could be wrong, since these are just drawings and not actual photographs.

@@gagejohnson7391 you have to remove the rear wheel, the inner wheel well liner... evac the whole AC system. Disconnect the rear AC lines at the rear unit. Then you have access to the rear thermal expansion valve. When doing do make sure all the O-rings are replaced with correct type and size. It unbolts from the rear evaporator.

I did this job yesterday at my workplace on a 2016 Remove kick panel, disconnect switches (no need to remove them) at pedal assembly, detach all push clips at pedal assembly, remove metal box and its bracket under column visible at 2:23 (easy to get to, I did this for more room, remove TOP bolt at steering shaft (it will slide down easily by hand. No need to disconnect both ends), make sure you mark it and prevent steering wheel from turning, move shaft out of the way, remove 5 nuts holding pedal assembly. At this point the entire pedal assembly will come out easily and the blower motor will be easily accessible The key to not struggling with this, is to remove that metal box, move the intermediate shaft out of the way, and to have the right tools
