I managed to ride with South Western Railway for the first time earlier this month. I went as far as Earlsfield, (South West London is an area that I barely touch, even south of river nowadays) and I boarded one of their Class 455s. I felt rather happy about this, considering they still have a very high amount of them in service. (when I posted this comment - 82 were still in service) I imagine it will take a while for all of them to be replaced, considering the Class 701 just entered service earlier this year - but I don't mind anyways! Those trains have been plagued with so many issues. I very much enjoyed the ride and vast amount of variety seen in a short space. As for Earlsfield, it looked like a nice area, nice shops and restaurants - looked posh I guess. but I guess it was in South West London so you know I suppose that's a theme! On the way back, I got a Class 458, again I was happy to have gotten onboard one and that they will be staying in the train fleet for longer. Overall it was pretty good day, and I do wish to explore more of their network and try out more of their rolling stock. A very nice ride here though, got to appreciate the English countryside, luckily it was not too busy when you filmed it (unless you filmed the less busier part of the route) but yeah these trains are so quiet lol! Yeah I have written alot of words here - sorry!

Nice to hear from you Sam! I'm surprised you've never been on SWR before, but it makes sense if you don't visit South West London much... lol The 455s are cool, I think I went on one once, but it wasn't for too far unfortunately. I haven't been to Earlsfield, but I went closeby to Wandsworth and Tooting - it isn't really a part of London I visit much either to be honest. I like the 458s, but yes, they are soooo quiet! I think I was quite lucky with this journey, but it was a Saturday afternoon/evening, so passenger numbers picked up considerably by Guildford :D

Great visual i never knew the X17 goes on the M6 or M1 i liked the first song i wish it was sunny on board btw if you watch arriva leicester route 48 south wigston to leicester by leicester travels you will hear that first song NOTE HE SPED IT UP BY 10%

Thanks! The 4 runs the full length of Wilford Lane (from 1:32 to 1:55 in this video), where the road then becomes Clifton Lane.

15:05 Was this an abandoned station? There were many things I noted during this video (although I only watched as far as Meadowhall for now). Besides those abandoned platforms, the biggest surprise for me was how your train had left the platform at Doncaster before it had left the station itself. There were also some nice scenes outside.

That was indeed - the old Rotherham Masborough Station. I've just done a little bit of research, and it used to be the main station for Rotherham, but closed in 1987, when most trains were rerouted to serve the current Rotherham Central Station. Whilst the current station is located in a much better place in Rotherham close to the centre, I do find it a bit of a shame as Masborough looks like a much better station itself. I know you said you haven't watched past Meadowhall, however there is also another disused station at 20:27. This one is Brightside, which closed in 1995 due to the recent opening of the close-by Meadowhall Station.
