As far as movie Leptirica goes. It’s not that vampire in Serbia looks like werewolf. Its that there was no taxonomy in vocal folklore tradition and that some people described it as a shadow and some as hairy and most as looking abnormally healthy or red in cheeks when it drinks a lot of blood etc. Clear categories are modern concepts. Before it was a word of mouth of supposed eye witnesses or some old fairytales or events made up by many different people. There is also a fact that Werewolf and Vampire are demons who intersect like in Coppola Dracula where he turns into a werewolf but he is a vampire. Or if someone is simply a werewolf he has same characteristics as a vampire in terms of modus of behavior and other attributes except the form itself and connection to the wolf totem.

That movie played at the AAFES theater at FT Sill, OK when I showed up for FAOBC in the Fall of 1984. That is where it was . . . .

I had to look away at the scene of the shoes, even though I’ve seen it in documentaries before. The way he did it stabbed my heart in a new way.

Soooo what I’m hearing is Kelvin should be listed as a writer for this script????? Haven’t watched yet, but it definitely sounds like he was absolutely a thread in the very fabric of the writing !!

Mike Leigh remains a National treasure...One of very few directors who can capture the essence of the human condition and slowly peel off layer after layer of very complex characters who initially present as one dimentional
Am waiting to see this wonderful movie best of luck to all of you to survive these dangerous times

Poverty Porn. That's what this film is all about. To make it very clear that the intention is to be filthy and vulgar, there is a shot in the film of a woman defecating - something no film in the history has ever shown. There is also a voyeuristic shot of frontal nudity on the pretext of another woman changing clothes. Ms. Kapadia vexing eloquent here and trying to put up the oh-so-intellectual appearance completes the charade. No wonder the world is fade up of such leftist cr@p and is rejecting them and their rotten agenda.

Pisses me off that Ellen Burstyn lost out on an Oscar for Requiem for a dream .. her monologue with her son will make you cry! Guess who got the Oscar that year and it’s a travesty? Freaking Julia Roberts for Ellen Brokovich …😂😂😂

People who don’t like this , misses the point .. Egger’s like Kubrick was big on symbolism .. Needs to be watched 2 -3 times WITH SUBTITLES, trust me , and then you get it

I teared up at the scene at the end where the homeless lady holds the lighter flame while Sue dies..No more blue tomorrows, you on hugh now. Unlike any other cinema tears just one tear in each eye that fell slower than any other tear

Go Woke, Go Broke. I would not spend a dime to see anything by the Illuminati that is Hollyfield. I paid to see The Joker, Dinish O'Suza , and Snowden. Otherwise I will watch much older movies even the black and white ones.

I have just seen the movie tonight in Rome and it has revived memories of my past visits to West Bank, since the first Intifada in 1989. It is harrowing to see the total impunity of IDF and the Israeli Colonial settlers. It's even more mind blowing that things are getting worse by the day in the West Bank as the feeble ceasefire in Gaza is holding. The genocidal logic applied to Gaza is now being moved to the commumities like the ones featured in the movie. It is horrifying. A must watch film People have to see what's happening.

Giants!! The wisdom here is massive. Your films, from both of you, have astounded me. Hale County This Morning, This Evening shifted the way I see film now. And it is redolent of Tree of Life without being a copy in any way. You couldn't help but make "sentient" work on every level. Thank you both.
