My first was 2025 was not 4k but blu-ray sleep away cam 2 and 3. Which I was shocked that those came out. I hope they put out the remake too so I can at least see it.

Would love to have this in 4k but Paramount decided to change the colour timing, adding a garish teal look to the film. As for the artwork, they've gone with a font from the original 1933 KONG which, when combined with the awkward juxtaposition between steelbook and slipcase, looks extraordinarily cheap. Not surprised at all that Paramount cocked this one up as they've spent much of the last 30 years pretending this movie doesn't exist. The only reason they're putting it out now is because the Shout! Factory release proved to be a big seller and they didn't want to miss out on any residual profits.

Great stuff Lonnie!! We definitely need more of these, how to save and most importantly, how to collect in a way that’s smart. Collections ought to be enjoyed for the long haul. I need to get better at going through my stuff, the stuff as you say never gets watched again, they only fill out space on a shelf, and there’s plenty of that that I could probably turn in to one of my bookstores for some store credit. The problem with upgrading as we all know, though, is with varying releases the ‘extras’ do change and so there are good reasons why one holds onto a DVD, even though he might have a Blu and even a 4K release of the same film, ‘The Thing’ is a perfect example of how varying its extras are across its wide span of releases. I may speak to some of this as well when I do my Christmas haul vid, waiting on a few things to come in though.🍻

I definitely agree. This movie is extremely underrated. I love the look of the two wolfmen in this movie. The plot of the movie is great.

Keep the Indicator UK too, the Indicator looks so great and the artwork and booklet is so cool and limited OOP. I double dip this, I never sell the indicator, is a collector piece.

IMO My Bloody Valentine is the best 4k Scream Factory has released up to date cause it is Beautiful Transfer.

I remember the hype before renting it on Video as a kid. Genius marketing. Scared me when I watched it. Still holds up pretty good. A new cut is going to be put out. Lots more original footage.

How does it compare to the second sight version?

I'm still operating on a bare bones DVD for Trick 'r Treat so maybe it's time for an upgrade. The best segment, 'Halloween School bus Massacre' should have been longer. Show the kids/Brian Cox character at home Halloween morning, then each boarding the bus, each step building tension...feels like a missed opportunity.

I got Nordic version of nightmare on Elm street and it was kind a lame, because steelbook has same art than slipcase. Transfer was beautiful though! One thing bothered me in the uncut version, scene where Tina appears second time in body bag and spills her guts (centipedes,worms and insects) out from her stomach. In this version you only see that pile of "guts" on her feet. I remember it used to be more gory in VHS version. Do you remember it being different?
