how do i crop a normal 4k video into the YT shorts 9:16?
@TheIshExperienceАй бұрын
To crop a normal 4K video into the YT Shorts 9:16 format, set your project to a 9:16 aspect ratio and check the box "Force selected project prest to this project." Add the 4K video to the timeline, and you can reduce the size of the 4K video to fit within the 9:16 window by adjusting the scale. I hope that helps.

Found an easier way to do this. 1. Take a vertical video 2. Send it to yourself 3. Open it and save it to your PC or Mac 4. Open Adobe Premiere Elements on your PC or Mac 5. Open video you saved (Adobe Premiere Elements will now open in the vertical format) 6. Delete video No Patience Required!

imho I miss 2 features here which can be important. In Elements you render in the program. So you have to wait. In Pro you render in a separate program (Media Encoder), allowing you to continue editing. I you need much exports, Pro wins here. Also, multi-cam editing is great in Pro and not handy supported in Elements. Thx for the video!

Hey quick question. Does the media/videos we use have to be recorded in 1080x1920 for it to work? Tried following the guide but my videos are still 1920x1080 as I record them from my PC but I am trying to convert the video to 1080x1920 as I upload them on Tiktok. Any advice would be great!
@TheIshExperience4 ай бұрын
Hello no the videos don't have to be recorded in 1080x1920 for this to work. You have to make sure to set the progect to 1920 x 1080 and lock the project. You can do that by eithier clicking the checkbox in PE or by having the first video you place on the timeline be 1920 x 1080. When You place a 1080x1920 on the project you will have to zoom in which will cut off pieces of the video and the quality may drop if you don't shoot in a high enough resolution. Let me know if that helps.

Premiere Elements 2019 here, did the same to a different preset that I prefer using, as I work a lot in 60fps. Worked just fine as far as I can tell. Though when using text/titles, they appear kinda squished. Need an inherently extra wide font to look decent. Still, you've earned a like and subscribe, thank you for the knowledge 👍

I appreciate the tips, but it is kind of irritating because I am expecting a way to crop the whole video, and these methods only "crop" certain content while leavin the actual video unchanged. I am userd with Photoshop, that one has a direct image cropping and it does what you expect, crops the whole document.
@TheIshExperience5 ай бұрын
Hey, I get what you mean. Video editing can be a bit tricky compared to image editing. If you're looking to change the actual size of the video from, for example, 1080 to 4K, you'll have to change the project settings before you start a new project and scale up, but some quality will be lost. The frame size gets locked once you start, or you'll have to export the video as a different size. If you're trying to convert a horizontal video to a vertical one, I have another video on my channel explaining it. I hope that helps.

Can you place a Title ANYWHERE (any position) in the frame? Like if I want it to across a person's chest wherever they are standing? In iMovie you only have propositioned templates. And how about color correction? In iMovie you can only make the scenes more Blue or make it more Yellow. For eample you cannot make a scene more Red. Very limited. I hope you can answer those 2 questions before I buy this program. TIA
@TheIshExperience5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your patience. Yes, you can place titles anywhere in the frame within Adobe Premiere Elements. I haven't used iMovie before, so I can't comment on the color correction. Adobe Premiere Elements does allow a free trial so that may be a good way for you to try it before purchasing. I hope that helps.

This is great. I'm a single parent going with a teen daughter. I would love to do the underwater cave thing but worried that we wouldn't be able to because we cannot swim. Also, is it super dressy for the dinners? Can teens go on the floating fiesta party?
@TheIshExperience6 ай бұрын
Even if you don't swim, you can still enjoy the underwater cave experience with a guide. They provide life jackets, and it's required even if you know how to swim. You are on vacation, so do what you feel comfortable with no need to risk it if you don't. Dinners, for the most part just come as you are. I'm not sure about teens going to the floating fiesta party. You probably need to check with the hotel when you book.

Thanks for this very helpful video. I am trying to convert a 1920x1080 horizontal video file to use a KZbin Short video, thereby creating a 1080x1920 video from the raw 1920x1080 video. I've followed your suggestion to set the project settings to 1080x1920 on my Premier Elements 2023. But the raw video doesn't fill the editor screen - there are black borders on the top and bottom of the editor screen. Do I need to upsize the raw video to fill the screen, or is there something I am missing?
@TheIshExperience8 ай бұрын
It sounds like you're on the right track with adjusting the project settings. You might need to resize or reposition the video within the 1080x1920 frame to fill the screen without black borders. Go to edit, applied effects, and under motion adjust the scale so it is greater that 100%. Resize until it fills the entire window. This will cut off parts of the video, but you can move it to focus on your subject. Let me know if that helps.

Thank you so muchh! One question. How to change what's showing like move the display to the left or right without splitting the video?
@TheIshExperience8 ай бұрын
Thanks to change what's showing you have to click on the video being displayed and you can draft it move it from left to right or up and down. On the right hand side motion also lets you adjust the position. The main thing to note is that when you move the clip it impacts the entire video. For example, if a clip is 3 mins long and at the 2 min mark, you move it to the left to focus on a subject. When you go back and rewatch, the video will be off to the left. That's why I spit the video as not to impact what happened earlier in the clip. I hope that makes sense.
@lamontviolante8 ай бұрын
I know how to do that, I know how splitting works. What I don't know is how to change subject in the video with showing moving side in-between. I don't know how to explain it better. In example: two people talk with each other and I want to show one then another with showing the moving thing in between. Like moving the camera in real life. I saw that in a lot of videos these days. The thing is in vertical ratio there's no space for both of them and when someone's moving a lot constant splitting without showing the actual moving animation won't do a thing. It just looks kinda bad. I don't know if you get what I'm tryna say. Hopefully you do. Thanks.
@TheIshExperience8 ай бұрын
@@lamontviolante Thanks for your patience I'm just seeing your message. After reading your question the best thing that comes to mind would be keyframes. That would allow you to move the frame back and forth without splitting the frame. If you aren't familiar with keyframes there are some great videos on it. Take a look and see if it helps if not let me know and I can see if something else might help you.

I tried this with the same dslr preset you used as well as one of the AVCHD presets and it doesn't show up under presets. I rebooted pc, and still premiere doesn't show the new preset options when creating a new project. I'm on elements 14, and curiously it wanted to apply an update when I opened it in 2024 (It's been a year or so since I've used it). Maybe now that this functionality is built into Elements, they applied a patch to prevent this workaround? The upgrade was only $79, so I just upgraded rather than fighting with it any more. Great video otherwise. I bet it saved a lot of people.
