You rushed yourself at the end and made it harder to understand what is going on. Can you slow down and explain where 2sin(1) came from?
@kawelow
@kawelow Ай бұрын
Because sine is an odd function, so sin(-1) = -sin(1). So plugging in the bounds just becomes (sin(1) + sin(1)) = 2sin(1)

@@MathForLife I proved that there are only 4 normed division algebras: the reals, complex, quaternions and octonions. And then did some basic number theory in the quaternions and proved some results about non trivial projective and stably-free modules which I'm sure would go over your head 😂 (they went over my head too don't worry)

Yes. Programming is a must in this day and age for any of the hard sciences. I find this unfortunate since I am not fond of it though I love physics. No need to be some super hacker at it, but every good scientist knows how to do data analysis and simulations.

Probably the most important one is to have really solid background in linear algebra and discrete mathematics. As soon as you know those two subjects, you can go and deeper your knowledge. Being able to do proofs and good skills of mathematical critical thinking is really critical in any field, you will improve them by doing practice, practice, practice, ..

Hi! Right now I'm a math major, but I'm struggling in some courses. Sometimes I feel dumb because I can't get the answer that my classmates seem to easily get, and when I'm studying sometimes I asked myself what I'm even doing. I love the field, love maths and wanna to pursue this career path. As you are more experienced, do you have any recomendation for moments like this to keep you forward?
@MathForLife

The first thing: you don’t know how much other have been exposed to that math knowledge and how much practice they had before. Step two: don’t compare yourself to others, move at your own pace and try to enjoy the subject even if it’s really difficult. Step 3: do a lot of practice. Step 4: ask others as many questions as you can. Good luck! Let me know how it goes:)
