About 2 weeks ago I parked at Bender Creek TH and drove up to Trinity Lakes. It was a great drive. Beautiful country. Great video guys! It looks like you came a different way. Will have to try it sometime.

I thought of building a small polished aluminum V-plow mounted just 2inches below the skid plate infront of my machine. To slide the snow off the V-plow so the skid plate is clearing snow and the wheels can bite into the ground. Quick mounted. Easy on easy off. V-plow height 6-8inch, width wide enough to clear the front wheel width.

I think your better off with bigger tires at real low psi than pushing any amount of snow. Just my 2 cents.

The 29” Should be called 27“ because they run super small. Just installed my 29x9x14 and 29x11x14 on 7 inch front and 8 inch rear rims and they barely measure 27 3/4 inches . Still 2 inches bigger then the 27” Kanati Mongrel that barely measures 25” lol 2013Can Am Commander 1000xt

Just depends how big of battery pack you use. Just be aware, this was used with older gopros, the newer (gopro 7 and up) won't record and charge at the same time.

Do you feel it is necessary to run cables to the battery or is there enough amperage at the Buss Bar?
@McCurdyOutdoors
@McCurdyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Depending on what year your machine is, the wiring harness from the bus bar to the battery isn't sufficient and has caused fires. It's more work but running straight to the battery is recommended.

Hi Doug, what do you use for trail maps? I'm from MI and plan on taking a trip out in the summer - trying to map out an overnight or two. I want to start out in Boise and head to wherever! Looks like you have a good amount of experience in these trails, any insight is greatly appreciated!

Awesome you picked a good place to visit! Most of the area is covered in forest service roads - there really isn't a "trail system" per say. I'd look around Pine/Featherville or Idaho City - lots of area to explore. Also I'd recommend google maps and parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/motorized-trails/

Question for you, why do you run a GPS behind the steering wheel when you have a ride command equipped buggy? I just got the turbo r with ride command, are they not reliable GPS systems?
@McCurdyOutdoors
@McCurdyOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
My phone gps has a better maping system and I can take it anywhere, whether hiking, boating, or in the pickup. Has tons of camping locations, hotsprings, hunting areas, etc. The ride command is useful for not getting lost, but I just don't use it.
@justintroy9827
@justintroy9827 2 жыл бұрын
@@McCurdyOutdoors ah I gotcha! What mapping system are you using on the phone? I have onx on mine. May start using it as a back up on my ride. I’ve noticed my ride command likes to erase my ride from time to time.
@McCurdyOutdoors
@McCurdyOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Used OnX but didn't like that I couldnt import my maps/rides. I use Backcountry Navigator because I have several state wide maps and older forest service maps loaded into it. It's also very user-friendly with plotting markers and whatnot. Been using it for years and not willing to change haha. I've had the same thing happen with Ride Command erasing stuff and I'd rather monitor temps and whatnot on that screen anyway.

took a rental car up from Council-Cuprum pavement and got half way up the south side of the big peak. You could make it up in yer quad. Camped there, it was great. I knew the road was gonna get rough and the north side of the mountain was a no-go in car and a case of hoofing it. I never did get down to Black Lake.
