At first I was like “that Crypt Keeper impression is pretty bad.” Then you kept doubling down on it. It was still pretty shoddy, but won me over by the end.

I just watched all these. I love Tales from the Crypt. I was 3 years old when I first saw the Crypt Keeper. I came into the living room in the apartment. It was 11:30 PM I had woken up from a nightmare lol. I came in, saw mom sitting on the couch and I came around the side of the couch to get comfort from my mom because of the nightmare and there pops the crypt keeper from the coffin after they do the house tour to the basement and pan in on the crypt keeper laughing and jump scaring the viewer. Mom said I fell to the floor face first screaming. She said she was up until the next morning trying to get me to sleep - after talking with the police because it being an apartment - I managed to scream in a terror that caused concern for the nearby neighbors. Didn't do a thing for my nightmares but made my mom laugh her head off because as she was trying to 'comfort' me, she was also laughing hysterically. My family were a funny bunch. My grandfather had a huge troll costume and came out with it and I evidently screamed, ran away and hid up in a tree for several hours as a kid. lol - I could go on about my family and their funny pranks but, I was either going to continued to be traumatized at our family reunions or I had to get in touch with my horror side. I chose option B. Love Tales from the Crypt, took about a year and a half after being traumatized by the crypt keeper to appreciate the show, but you can't beat the classic shows. Miss this and Tales from the Dark Side and The Twilight Zone 80's version. Just can't find good tv like this anymore. My favorite Crypt Story is the twins stuck together and the man who married all those older women and took their money and at the end, they entrap him in the tomb with them.

Here’s the thing with Keanu, at this point in time most see him as John Wick. So eventhough he’s done Bill and Ted and the matrix and he did those legacy sequels, it just didn’t feel right. In Bill and Ted face the music Keanu is doing a impersonation or a sullen version of that character. In the new Matrix, the beard etc most included myself just sees him as the John Wick character and not Neo. Ironically enough I am almost intrigued to revisit those Matrix sequels you picked up because they’re probably more interesting than the sequel we recently got.

@@leeroygreene85 what’s up Leeroy! Hope you’re doing well, man. I agree. I feel that same way when a lot of actors keep the same look for every role. Most recent, Adam Sandler is keeping his beard for happy Gilmore 2 and I won’t be able to think of him as that character as much for that reason

Before the dvds and KZbin uploads, as a kid in the 90’s I’d watch the reruns that aired I think on Fox late at night on Saturday (didn’t get hbo until the series was over and never caught too many reruns on that channel). It was edited severely but I still looked forward to it. The two that always seemed to air the most (and became two of my favorites) were Carrion Death and Korman’s Calamity. Love the silliness of Korman’s and probably like Carrion even more. Only gripe? The cryptkeepers’s intro to Carrion Death with the comic cover art for the show basically spoiled the ending lol. But, it’s still on my all time top 3 list.

It's been a long time since I've seen this show (it's in copyright limbo, so there's no shame in watching reuploads of it), but my favourite is easily "Showdown". One of the most twisted half-hour ghost stories I've ever seen with the greatest twist/scene in TV history to boot. Sure, the twist itself would become a cliché, but the way "Showdown" executes it is so well-done and brilliant that it has to be seen to be believed.

"Beauty Rest" is a good one. The whole thing screams "Winning is good, but for the love of god, don't obsess over it to the point you commit heinous acts to do so and won't even know what you'll win", and it's a classic morality play too. Tales from the Crypt in general was basically that older brother who scared and grossed you out with freaky bedtime tales, but made sure to make them include worthwhile messages that help shape you into who you are.

I'm the biggest Richard Pryor fan. He's he only famous person who's death really and truly got to me. But 'Another You' in my opinion is not one of his best. I saw it relatively recently. "I'm a ready teddy!" "Throw Momma From the Train's amongst my all favourite comedies. "You clumsy poop!" Photographed by Barry Sonnenfeld who shot 'Raising Arizona' and a lot of the Coen's and it clearly in that style. Is your hair cut inspire by Tom Shelby of 'Peaky Blinders'?

I deny the "fun" of 'Independence Day'. There I said it! I never liked it, rather, I always disliked it. I've seen 'Best In Show' probably too many times. Have you never seen 'Man on Fire'? I think that's certainly one of Tony Scott's best films. Great music from Lia Gerrard too, who sang in 'Gladiator' The UK blu-ray has all the extra features, but, there are none on the US one. 'The Man Who wasn't There' was I think filmed in colour, then changed to black and white in post-production. i have a French dvd of that film, which includes both black and white and colour versions, but the colour version has extremely muted colours. I could not stand 'Deadpool 2'. I really wanted to like it, and tried, but just couldn't. It was to me just typical hollywood, over ddependdence on c.g.i., the forced "jokes" were so obvious to me and I knew what was going to be said before it was said. I put off watching 'Midnight Express' for decades, building it up in my mind, thinki- ng it would be too intense to handle. Watched it maybe a year ago and it was not as bad as I was expecting, but, still does not make for a pleasant experience. That's a film I re-viewed on Letterboxd before I deleted my account.
