Ann Iverson was about customer and selling cheap things, but Laura Ashley needed to be marketed as a brand like Chennel or LV, or a fararri etc etc! If they did that it would still survive today! It was marketed by the wrong hands. We still love the classic floral dresses and they should have stuck to what they do best, classics, like furniture and floral prints. And not change according to market manipulation! LV don’t do that, they stuck to what they do best, like any good brand! They are not a department store and shouldn’t have tried to be one! So sad really. We miss it! We miss seeing it on our high streets around the world. They were so good with furniture. They should never have gone public so quickly so badly done!

Love the Welsh men’s choir at the end. My dad grew up in Pennsylvania in the 1930s-where he lived there were lots of Welsh coal miners and Welsh men’s choirs.

The Laura Ashley store was my favorite store to go in. I couldn't afford anything but still loved looking.

They may say that they will debate a subject but never really do.The ruling majority party has been in control for too long .Politicians of whatever persuasion loose touch with their electorates if they are in power for so many years .We in Wales would probably be better off without this extra tier of government.

I love Laura Ashley clothes , very femine . Some of the styles looked like they came from a Jane Austin film or drama.

I loved her designs. Her style of clothes was very modest and some of the clothes looked liked moderation of clothes from a Jane Austin novel. Her designs in general are very much quality. I didnt know she was Welsh . Or Christian. Bless her for it .

I’m 70 years old been a fan of her linens and fashions for many years!! I also loved every minute of this. Thank you so much for posting. I just bought a beautiful vintage set of Laura Ashley sheets at an estate sale yesterday. I believe they were from the 1990s but I still find them to be excellent quality. Her patterns are so lovely I’m happy to know she was the incredible woman that I always thought she would be. ❤️

UPDATE - The Ambulance Commissioner is having a review on the proposed plans.

All seems like a bit of hot air to me. As you can see at 9:37 it’s normally the first responders that arrive and stabilise ready for transport. THEN the air ambulance needs to get there. And if this will help more people, then great. The real danger is all of us making binary points when we have no genuine understanding of the logistics and operation of the air ambulances, and their interaction and management vis-a-vis the conventional ground based crews.

It's all set up in Welshpool and been working well for many years, Why mend something that isn't broken, And Welshpool is the most central of them all to RSH, PRH, Birmingham Hospitals, and Stoke on Trent.

Thanks for this wonderful documentary! I love Laura Ashley designs and elevation of home and family. It's refreshing to hear such reverence, admiration, and love from her family. I only found this documentary because in 2022 in a world gone mad with disease, war, and grief, I was internet searching for pictures from earlier, less harsh times. She would have been so sad to see her factory come to this! As could Bernard or their sons daughter stepped in at this bad management as awful how they treated as just because Laura passed didn't mean the while factory had to fail? Some very valid points made by the people here...and obsively improvements never were made as nothing ever changed.

I wish they could of continue to build more factories in Wales instead of going go Paris just to follow the money like every other company. I know of course we all need to make a living but just wish they could have continued with that community vibe and invest in Wales and earn what they 'needed' that way as I think the team still needed the Ashley's there for commanrade. It would have been lovely to say 'Wales is the place to be for fashion and home decoration'. Being an artist myself having a factory like this still around would give me so much of a head start but now there no where to be seen as the all roots have been lost so so sad😔 A humble life will always make you happier than a high flying one and I think in the end they most likely realised that and we thank for your designs etc Ashley's.

I have been through Carno and visited Machynlleth many a time it a very sleepy place still as aside from the university and the odd shop supermarket it is but dying again 😔
