Love the slouchy but hard to follow as you don’t say row your on and you error wording at times. Be great if you could go wee bit slower beginning of each row. I’m learning and it would be wonderful if row count mentioned to go back too when needed.

How do you chain 21, sc in 3rd chain from hook, sc in next 19 then sc 3 times in last chain when you only have 17 chains left after sc in 3rd chain from hook? Am I missing something?
@maplewoodroad Жыл бұрын
Hi! You're absolutely right! I'm sorry I missed that. I've updated the pattern to show the correct numbers. It's chain 21, then sc in 3rd st from hook, sc in next 17 st, then 3 sc in next st (inc). maplewoodroad.com/crochet-drawstring-bag/

I'm making a shawl with this stitch, and I'm having a terrible time keeping the same number of stitches on my row. I'm dropping them at the end somehow. I looked back at your beginning crochet videos and I think I'm doing it all right. But still dropping. Any suggestions?
@maplewoodroad Жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara! Hmm, not sure what's going on there. You should be making a ch1 or ch3 (depending on the row) to act as your first stitch, then working either a sc or dc into the next stitch. One idea may be to work your "second" stitch into the "first" stitch instead (work the sc or dc at the base of the chain). That way you won't be missing a stitch each row. Does that make sense/help?

How do u place the like handle thing that u wear on
@maplewoodroad2 жыл бұрын
You can find the instructions here: maplewoodroad.com/crochet-drawstring-bag/ . I also recommend feeding the cord through the ch-2 spaces at the top of the bag and attaching the ends of the straps near the bottom of the bag using either stitch markers or safety pins. Try it on and see how it fits. Would you like it longer or shorter? This is the best way to make sure it's most comfortable for you. Once you've decided on a length, using a piece of yarn, just stitch and knot it to the back of the bag, toward the bottom. Thanks! :)

Hi Diane! I used about 1500 yards of a bulky #5 yarn, so if you're using #4 yarn, you'll need a bit more (sorry, I don't know the exact calculation for that). You can find the pattern here: maplewoodroad.com/crochet-pocket-shawl/ Enjoy! :)

I watched you sample guide . I totally did it wrong it curled on me so redid and paid little more attention to the exact stitch to do the regular DC, and then the fpdc, it turned out right the second swatch I did. Glad I decided to do a swatch sample before the actual pattern. I might would of been frustrated and an stressed abit. But I did have to order more yarn , as I only have 2 skeins and that's not going to be enough. But am excited to do it. I'm gonna start with what I have , and hopefully I will get the rest soon. The web site did say shipping might take awhile 🤔 . I also noticed they had Riddle for a color , although it was like a teal blue , an not the blue color of yours. So I did order it as well. I'm excited to start. I will see about posting finished project at the end. Wish me luck. Lol. Thank you . If I may make a suggestion , the sample swatch might show your stitch pattern as you do it along with the viewer if you use a lighter color. That's what I had trouble with I think viewing where you was doing the different stitches and showing the fpdc then the DC. But that's just me .it was kinda hard to see for me. But I watched 3 times. Altogether after I curled the first time with the alpine stitch row. But I got it yeah. 👍please don't think I was bring rude in anyway about the suggestion on swatch color , it was just hard for me to see your stitch placement just abit, I think my chemo treatments have caused me some seeing issues. I did master it. Although mine looks different as I crocheted looser . I used to crochet tighter but I've learned to do looser stitches it's not as hard on my hands. Mine probably won't look as pretty as yours because of the looser stitch .
@TheJoan482 жыл бұрын
I agree on the swatch color. A lighter color would have helped. Not sure I can use my varigated yarn with this complicated stitch. Nice, though. Would be easier with a solid color i think, at least for me.

In the written pattern it says ... CH 30 then first row : chain 3 (turningchain) dc in each stitch ?? Does this mean chain 30 then add 3 more ? Do you go into 3rd chain from hook to start ? Is the turning chain counted as a stitch?
@maplewoodroad3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion, I'll update the pattern. Each row should measure 30 stitches across, so yes, either ch 33, or after turning then ch 3 to act as a turning stitch then go into the fourth stitch for your first dc. Hope that helps. :)

Thank you. If you look at the pattern here: maplewoodroad.com/crafts/love-you-with-all-my-heart/ , under Open Hearts, it says: Foundation Row: Ch 30. Row 1: Ch 3 (turning chain), dc in each st. So in row 1, there will be a total of 30 dc. Good luck & let me know if you have any more questions. 😊
