As Bradley said in an interview, they have a basic idea of a song in the studio, work it out , the Riff that is , catch a good vibe , then Hit Record

Why is the life is too short part just cut from the official version, always wondered that
@leeferdude2206 ай бұрын
It's not cut off. It's a sample of the words Too Short from the song "Life is Too Short" by the artist "Too Short"

He was going to take rock music to fun new places. The whole alternative grunge thing was fading out, this was going to be the new direction..instead Sugar Ray took the flame.

This version sounds a lot more polished than the classic and I wonder if this was the original intended version, given the classic feels a lot more raw compared to the songs on rest of the self-titled album.
@trueaspect5888 Жыл бұрын
This version was one of the last songs recorded by Brad in 1996. You can hear the maturity in his voice compared to the previous recordings and might provide some insight into what his later songs might have sounded like if he had lived.

Ima full blown drug addict and I fucking love this song and I'm in love with shooting coke to this song. It's likea rural. I don't know how to not do it that way. I can't believe he died so young and he had such an amazing voice and the band was so unique and they were different with the way they reggae and rock. RIP Bradley. You'll always be in my mind, heart and soul.

I hope you’ve gotten help within the past year after you posted this. It’s just not worth it bud. I got lucky and was able to get into a methadone clinic to get off of heroin before I joined the Army. I now have a beautiful wife, 3 gorgeous kids, a 3k square foot colonial home on 7 acres. Not only that but I was also able to snag a manual transmission 5.7 Challenger right off the line in 2022 which was always my dream car. Before all of this I was homeless for 2 years and in and out of jail. I’m not by any means trying to glorify myself but trying to convey that is someone like myself completely and utterly in slavery to a substance can overcome, anyone can. I hope you are doing better and have stopped that nonsense about having fun doing drugs.

This one has their actual drummer playing drums vs. a drum machine on the other, this one is more alternative-rock , the original is way more hip hop
@josephpagano76122 жыл бұрын
the drums, and the guitar solo
@kevinkibble8342 Жыл бұрын
The original has an opening drumbeat, the solo on this is done on an electric guitar rather than acoustic, the tempo on this is slower, it uses less samples, it feels more polished, it doesn't have that organ sounding instrument in the background, it has a distorted electric solo at the end which the original doesn't.

Verse 1] Johnny Butt was a man with a real strong will to survive He'd just keep pushin' on, even though he was barely alive So, shoot it up, shoot it up, it just don't matter Johnny says he wants to go do it Says he wants to kill a cop [Chorus] We've got a brand new dance, it's called we've got to overcome We've got a brand new dance, it's called we've got to overcome [Verse 2] So, Johnny just keep pushin', 'cause the streets are yours There'll come a day when all that shit won't matter So, shoot it up, shoot it up, it just don't matter When you're resisting anyway [Chorus] We've got a brand new dance, it's called we's gots to overcome We've got a brand new dance, it's called we've got to overcome [Verse 3] So, Johnny, he kept on pushin' Streets are yours There'll come a day when all of that shit won't matter So, shoot it up, shoot it up, it just don't matter Resisting anyway

[Verse 1] Early in the morning, rising to the street Light me up that cigarette and I'll strap shoes on my feet Got to find a reason, reason things went wrong Got to find a reason why my money's all gone I got a Dalmatian, I can still get high I can play the guitar like a motherfucking riot Life is too short, so, love the one you got 'Cause you might get run over, or you might get shot Never had to battle with my bullet-proof vest Never start static, I get that off my chest Take a small example, a tip from me Take all of your money, give it all to charity-ty-ty-ty Love's what I got within my reach And the Sublime style's still straight from Long Beach It comes back to you, you gonna get what you deserve Try and test that, you're bound to get served Love's what I got, don't start a riot You feel it when the dance gets hot, hot [Chorus] Lovin' is what i got I said, remember that Lovin' is what i got I said, remember that [Verse 2] Well, I don't cry when my dog runs away I don't get angry at the bills I have to pay I don't get angry when my mom smokes pot Hits the bottle and goes right to the rock Fucking and fighting, it's all the same Livin' with Louie Dog's the only way to stay sane Let the lovin', let the lovin' come back to me [Chorus] Lovin' is what I got I said, remember that Lovin' is what I got I said, remember that Lovin' is what I got I said, remember that Lovin' is what I got I said, remember that
