I heard this song for the first time live by Steve Earle tonight in Ashland Ky. 7-28-24. I'm from WV. not that far from where the disaster happened, so it resonates with me. The best part of the song is Steve singing every one of those men's name's all 29. That was impactful. I appreciate Steve Earle for songs like this and so many more that he has written, recorded, and performed.

This is so lame compared to The Association. These people had the resources to make a monumental version of this song and turned in a mediocre performance. The worst part of this anticipated movie was the poor musical renditions of beautiful classic songs. There wasn’t a single song that came close to the quality of the original. You can pat yourselves on the back and say that you sounded great, but everyone who was around in 1967 when these songs were released knows that these covers are weak imitations that could have been great.
