I am living in Finland and remember that a finnish driver Leo Kinnunen made once the lap record with a porsche. I knew Leo, and he was very friendly always. He was good in rally as well.

Great video, I tried to follow the route on Google Maps. A few risky passes and the video is speeded up , in the parts between the slow sections? Hope to get to Sicily someday to follow the track also.

i am trying this circuit on 2D driving simulator on google maps... very simple driving sim... like old GTA style.. top down.. no sound or other goodies... but has a real terrain.. trying the grand version..

Al di là del valore storico della Targa Florio, che è immenso, questo filmato dimostra quanto la politica di interessi degli abitanti del centro della Sicilia. Costoro vanno mandati tutti a casa e penalizzati nelle tasche; basta compensi faraonici ma solo stipendi dignitosi (ove per dignitosi deve intendersi uno stipendio pari a quello di un operai specializzati, perché loro sono degli specializzati in politica). At the detour on SP24 at 16:40, did you drive the dirt detour to the left, or go back around onto SP24 from the other side? I was just there (visiting from Canada) and drove two laps. Rather than going down the sketchy looking dirt detour with our hire car, we took the steep concrete road down into Scillato, rejoined SS643 on the other side of the autostrada, then hairpin left onto 9bis. It seems that that hairpin, with its huge stone wall support, is one of the popular filming spots from the 70's Targa films. We made the same mistake in Collesano; the first sign for SP9 sends you on a 90 left bypassing most of the town, but if you ignore that, SP9 also continues into the town along Via Pollizi to the famous hairpin turning left onto Via Isnello. Funny, the same buildings from those iconic photos I gazed at as a kid are still there, some have sprouted a third story and a nice new coat of stucco, but some (the single story buildings at the corner entry and exit) seem unchanged. Had a great lunch at Casale Drinzi just outside of town. Even though parts of the road are deteriorated or gone, we are still so lucky to be able to get a little taste of the experience and the history.

Thank you for your inspirational video. We hope to visit those parts of the course that are still navigable with a low slung sports car.

17:20 in hte past the real track continue on left for another 1 km and after a hairpain return down to bridge, even that part of road is lost forever by 40 year, that part of circuit is most fragile and infact now we lost the Scillato Descent a so important part of track. At Collesano you totally mistake the road, you have to continue on road and not turn inside the village. At campofelice you have to mistake because with normal rules street you cant go straight.

Nice idea for a video being sped up, spoiled by driving like a bellend. FFS have some patience and overtake when you can actually see whats coming. Thats the kind of twattery that causes needless accidents.
