That is so true...I still love to get out and shop....the main time I get gift on line is when I have to to send them ...saves the postage...wondering if the video you saw was on line? Great video!!

Hi! Mimi…🤗 you know I’ve never adapted to ordering online. I’am always out when I shop. However this year for different reasons I will have to use some services… however I remember the good times with my nana! She taught me all those feelings you’re talking about. Remember cherry n Webb. I know I misspelled that. And Woolworth downtown. The candy & peanut store down city, 🏙️ as my nana would say, it’s so true going to the mall was all about the experience sears, Filene’s it was so much fun! It just feels so warm inside! Getting out! We’re definitely living in another time & world! Nice video!🤗🌺

Good point Mimi, we have had 3 major grocery stores closed down in the last 2 years within walking distance from here . The complaints? Union workers are asking for more money, store rents are skyrocketing, and too much stock that they are either throwing it out or giving it to charities ( yes, even rotten foods and expired food) Now we have to rent a car every week to drive to Timbuktu to buy our groceries as they charge way too expensive delivery fees and they are not always on time!. So what gives?) As for Amazon, the workers here are treated fairly as they have to obey the Federal and provincial laws. Again they are cheap but most of it is not bad quality but there is the odd, shall I say junky stuff that makes people's heads shake. And our dollar is more expensive than your dollar and that doesn't help matters as the majority of our goods comes from the USA or Mexico. The prices of stuff in the local malls here are so expensive that people won't even go in them anymore. the Mom and Pops stores are disappearing too. The Senior Citizens are starving themselves to meet ends, like myself I only get roughly 800 a month for pension. who the heck can live off of that? Yes we have a huge homeless problem here in Canada as a result. (now you can understand why I don''t have a phone or a camera to do anything with I have to borrow things from friends) Sure we have a good medicare system but its hard to find family doctors as they are moving out of the country and they are not being replaced fast enough. Everything in Canada is expensive. Thats my rant for the day LOL BTW is your name Sandy? as I saw someone ranting about your channel and how they enjoyed Sandy or did I get that wrong? you don't have to say anything about it, if you don't want to. Cheers! take care, and Happy New Year!

I prefer to store-shop, but sometimes it is just not practical and except for WM, means 2+ hours of drive time. I do get deliveries, mainly from WM (not sure if this is any better than Amazon). For those coming from the closest store, I tip the delivery person. I sometimes pause my Amazon subscription. I looked earlier today to see when it next is charged and plan to pause for a while.

It's not just Amazon, the USPS employees are overworked too and just throw packages, they don't have time or energy to care about the packages. BTW, you need to retitle the video something like, "The shopping experience we're denied".

I believe this is true. Shopping has become a thing of greed lately. I've had some bad dealings with Amazon lately. It's sad. You're so right about how the packages are handled. 😮 It's time to get back to the stores. I'm going to save $14.99 a month! Thanks Sandy! 😊

Mimi, I don't know which one of us likes coffee more 😂 Big Corp/Online shopping is less personal and more robotic for the employees and consumers. We try to support local small business as much as possible.

I think ther is hope. I work in retail. There is a constant flow of customers asking me questions with obvious answers. There are tons of shoppers asking me for advice about products and sharing their lives. I often interpret their interactions as "wanting to talk to a human." There are so many people like this. Don't give up hope.

People might say that about deliveries I get. I have items that I can predict usage (for example, TP and coffee) set up for regular shipment from Walmart. Over the past year, I have ordered over a dozen garden beds (some Amazon, some from elsewhere). I’ve ordered seeds/plants that my local farm store does not carry.

Oh yes people make it so easy and they let themselves go by the convenience and they buy unnecessary things. I am the type of person that I love going to the store.😊 Yep I do not buy an Amazon very rarely I buy something online I like going to the stores I shop at Walmart yes occasionally I go to the mall and I like going to the thrift stores😊

All great points here, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I cancelled Prime membership in October and Amazon auto-renewed it in November any way. Very sketchy. That never happened in the past. I had to call them and demand a refund. The same thing just happened with my Audible subscription (via Amazon) - I cancelled it in November and they auto-renewed it 12/28. I had to call and demand a refund. Yeeesh. I am so over over-consumption, and will be focusing on having less stuff throughout 2025.
