I own 2 quilter amps and holy shit!!! I own a match 2 micropro and I recently bought this head. Both amps sound fantastic with or without pedals. Definitely a fan of how the tone block handles my sludge. Blows away my Waza head

Is this unit loud enough to crank alongside another guitarist with a 4x12 cab, a bassist and drums, all loud af?

Thanks! I'm considering doing the same thing! Do you gig with these as well!? 200 watts sounds like more than enough!?
@AphelionBlackMetal5 жыл бұрын
@Kash Kustomer I went ahead and bought the Tone Block 200. I plan on getting one with an fx loop at some point too. These thungs are unbelievably loud! And so much clean headroom!! These aren't just good for Solid State, they're amazing even against tube!

Hey awesome demo! Tell me how do you find only having a mid eq with this amp? Do you use a eq pedal to refine your sound? If so what do you feel the Tone Block lacks when it comes to eq that you need to dial in or out? Thanks.
@deadheadsg8 жыл бұрын
+Bruce Armstrong Thanx man! No, I haven`t used any EQ pedal, or post EQ settings to dial the sound. The "Contour" knob covers pretty much all the mid settings I could possibly need. The high and low frequencies were fine tuned on my AMT preamp and the boost pedal, thats it. If i remember right, treble was turned to around 2 o`clock and bass was somewhere between 9 and 10 o`clock on D2. I don`t feel the Tone Block lacking anything in sound. It sounds with my settings just like in the video above. ;)

+Gábor Dancs hey I have a tone block and just got last night an AMT E2, I see you have the gain set for guitar, are you using the preamp out or drive out of the AMT? I was running preamp out to toneblock and had the gain at line but it seemed fizzy and weird treble in the pick attack, i am running at 12v, I would just like it to warm up a bit and get that icepick out
@deadheadsg8 жыл бұрын
+Matt Newsome Hi there! I use the preamp out as well on my D2, however, i run it at 9v. I didn`t notice fizzyness in my sound, but it might just be the character of your E2. I used to own an ENGL Fireball, now that was quite fizzy too.. AMT probably nailed it with the E2! :) Maybe you should try out an EQ pedal and cut the disturbing high frequencies.

+Gábor Dancs Thanks man, right you are, I messed with it last night found a couple of things, mainly I had an issue with my power supply on my pedal chain. I am sure its just I dont like the voice of the Engl after playing it. I also wasent getting the volume up enough, you know in the house jaming. I compared it to my VHT Pitbul and found even though it is solid state the quilter much like a tube amp needs so volume to really get in the tone. It is very tube like, \m/(><)\m/

whats up guys ? how is the headroom on this guy for on stage / practice ? does it have enough headroom and balls to get around a loud drummer? good bottom end ? thinking of picking one up to go with the atomic amplifire....
@deadheadsg8 жыл бұрын
Hi! I am the guy playing there. ;) that little beast has plenty and very clean headroom. Bottom end is tight and though there is 200W, I crank it up to around 10W at rehearsal sessions. On a gig, well that depends on the venue. Btw. this thing throws 200W in your face on 8 or 4 Ohms too and you van connect any kind of cabinet to it!!
@dawnofadreamx978 жыл бұрын
+Gábor Dancs awesome man! i just ordered the new one , the pro block 200 , it has an fx loop so I can bypass the preamp and use with another preamp like the atomic amplifire... thanks for the info! cheers and great playing man!

+dawnofadreamx97 Hey I picked one up about 2 months ago, I have never found an SS amp I like, I am a tube snob, and the quilter really impresses me enough that I am using it more than my VHT Pitbull. With a hotter signal and also as you crank it up it really compresses and fills out much like a tube amp. I have had every popular SS amp crate powerblock, tubeworks, 44 magnum, ect and the Qulter is on another level
