@29:18 I wish there was a way to edit out those hard tooth-suck gulps out in post-production. My misophonia was making me dizzy every time John did this (which was VERY frequently). @22:43 another furious gulp/snap! Fantastic presentation otherwise - - @2:04 I thought he might pass-out he swallowed so hard, also @38:20 he seems to temporarily lose focus for a second due to the hard gulp/snap. I also noticed the deep gulping/snap sound is often preceded by an "ehm" expression

Instead of going on this odesey and buying so many budget bins. Take the money at the start and buy a pair of Leica Trinovid 8x32 for about £630.

I'm thinking about buying the one without automatic, because very cool of course, but again, every moving part breaks after a while, and 2 years isn't a lot. And if I give this money I want it to last as long as possible, let's say 10 years. I would get mini manual and a XXL for walking with 2 people. Thank you for the video!

its so crappy. its so difficult to get the BMI etc. You have to constantly fiddle with it, it fails 90% of the time, and when it shows the values it flips by it so fast without offering the option to look back at it.

Hi John. I’m sorry to say that I do not agree with your view of these binoculars . I have quite a few binoculars a few you are describing, sorry you have not given enough depth into optics. Neither do I agree with your individual summary. Thumbs down for me. Kind regards.

What a constructive criticism! I think his efforts and the final presentation are pretty much spot on for the customers likely to be considering these binoculars. I too have owned or tried many of these binoculars and pretty much agree with his findings. At any reserve where they are selling bins, I like to try them. I have almost a full suite of Swaros, but also a few lower end models (for glove box, outbuildings etc) and am frequently asked by friends for recommendations, so like to stay on top of the market. The only point he fails to mention or take account of is that these lower end models are generally made in China (or similar countries) and thus have awful QC. Only this weekend I have bought several pairs of such bins from Amazon big sale and the quality differences in identical models is significant. So whilst you simply disagree without any real context, at least this chap presents his evidence clearly. I suspect he's criticised a pair you own and now your feelings are hurt!

i have a manual mini but older model and it has lasted 7 years in the Netherlands with extremely strong winds here. We also have the original and it does not bend or anything perfect for two people when we go for a walk .

A couple of very good manufacturers with fine examples in the price point are Athlon and Maven. I like 10x42 size but my favorites are 8x32 for the field of view and the ease of wearing around the neck for a walk. A 10x42 binocular gets uncomfortable real quick! Other than lens clarity from edge to edge and field of view, the depth of field is very important to me. I own over 20 pair of pretty decent binoculars from the high end to the mid range with a few cheaper outliers. I have gifted at least 10 pair because I had way too many. Using charts are how I used to judge them, now I just eyeball them and I can tell pretty quick if they are quality. I have new pair coming next week. I can't seem to stop buying the damn things, lol.

Aweome job! I am in the market right now for a solid, high quality pair of this type of binoculars in these price points. I loves your honest ''I actually have experience with these'' type of review. There are so, so many videos out there where someone is basically just reading directly, word for word off of a product description that they cut and paste off the companies website. I really appreciate the hard work and long hours spent testing and breaking it all down. After watching I now have a truilly informed mindset to go out there and find what is best for me and what I am looking for. This isn't telling me what to buy or sell me anything. It's a real review based on experience. It's been super refreshing to come accross a video like this. I wish all reviews could be a 10 out of 10. Thanks a lot! :)

@DonRickard Жыл бұрын
Salter Ultimate Accuracy Bathroom scales. Because of reviews about units defaulting to Kg and requiring reset to those set, contacted Salters who maintained this only happened when moved. After purchase found this was Not So. Reviewers were right it often moved to another unit i.e Kg or Ibs but not always. Had lined up against tiles to check & took greatest care against movement. (Of course you have to move them to reset Pity: didn't happen on previous Salters

As an eye glass user, the FIRST thing I look at is eye relief value. The Nikons only offer 15mm which is pretty awful for my use. I really love Pentax 8X32 which offer 22mm eye relief. The Opitcron travelers is better than the Nikons at 19mm, but still not ideal. That is the one thing truly missing in your review which is otherwise excellent. Several of the ones you reviewed are actually not available here in the US.

Nice review! Are the Vortex Diamondback a HD model? As from other reviews that (recent?) upgrade changed the game a little...
@GiBMan702 жыл бұрын
Nice review, but if you're on a budget you're on a budget. Obviously, more money = better generally. This is why reviews usually take a few products of the same price rather than a range of ever increasing price. So the most expensive binoculars blew the cheap ones out of the water? Quelle surprise. And there'll be people spending twice as much as the winner here and theirs will make the winner here look crap. Welcome to life.

Anyone know if they make sun umbrella version of this with reflective opaque fabric? Also, thanks for the video. I was looking for something like this. I just wish they would use something like flexible nitinol arms instead of hinged ones to improve durability.

Thank you for your review, John! Due to your recommendation I bought the NIKON Monarch M7 8x30 - and am VERY happy with it! All worked as described by you. However, your review video could be improved. Links to the binocs you reviewed. Video: on my screen you are often pointing to binocs in the foreground which are not visible to me…and lastly.. spreadsheet? what spreadsheet? 😊
