Any chance you could do a closer view and explaination. This is awesome, much more fun than risking the led boards which ive shorted several times now 😂.. It would help to see a closer view and walk through, appreciate this was a while back so a refresh tutorial would be great 👍

Hi, It'll probably be a while till I get round to making videos again, but a lot of the ideas came from "loco-updates.uk", which details someone doing similar things to other locos, albeit with DCC. I would generally recommend as a starter learning some semi-decent electricity knowledge, because the model train space in particular seems particularly full of electrics rebranded with extortionate prices (you can save quite a lot of money just by understanding how to fully wire it yourself).

How did you fit the motor inside the Did you use for the class 456

Hiya, If I was using analogue, I would've used the tenshodo motor bogie given it's supposed ease of use. SInce I was going digital, I just literally went on a spares site, and found a motorised bogie from a similar train, and also the underframe (I used a Class 153). I then cut the underframe from the mark 3 coach of the 442 coach to be motorised, and cut of the motor section of the 153s underframe, and then glued the two pieces together. The bogie could then be slotted on nicely. The benefit of using this method is that wiring up of the motor bogie for DCC was a lot easier than would've been the case with the tenshodo equivalent.

Hello my name is Kieran I have made a class 442 how do you put a motor inside the class 442
@TechandTrainsChannel2 жыл бұрын
If you're on analogue, there are a few choices of motorised bogies that are designed to fit without modification of the chassis. In my case, since these particular bogies would have been difficult to dcc fit, I used spare parts from another locomotive to modify the chassis and fit the motor bogie of that respective locomotive

Having used the train tech sensor signals myself I can only say the sensors do indeed have severe limitations on sensing trains going over them, having communicated with the mist unhelpful customer services team, I wouldn't recommend them at all.
@TechandTrainsChannel2 жыл бұрын
I could not agree more - the idea that to fix their sensors with poor detections we should stick something silver on the bottom of the train is bizarre. Also with the signals linked you have to manually unlink the signals if a train passes in the opposite direction, or doesn't trigger another signal. It'd be a nightmare to wire with any number of these signals.

Hiya, after this video was edited, my video editor broke, and since covid I've had less free time and many more exams to deal with. Unfortunately this channel did lose out a bit as a result, although I do plan on uploading at some point in the future. At the moment though I'm struggling to maintain some of the locomotives hence less time spent on video production, effectively driving it down to nothing.

Have you gotten the extra coach? There's a few second hand ones on hattons currently.
@TechandTrainsChannel2 жыл бұрын
I didn't choose to in the end - mainly because I've fitted interior lighting into the train and the extra coach would not come with pickups (a hassle to fit)

What you have there is the Tri-ang Hornby 75 tone crane from the 1970s it is the change over period from when Tri-ang became Hornby at its time was highly detailed. The more modern version has quite alot more detail more decals but is basicly the same . The two little waggons are match waggons they spread the weight of the crane and tools chains etc on them . The other waggon is the jib runner it's main purpose was to rest the jib or boom of the crane on it pluss a spreader bar lifting gear the hook etc while it was traveling. I have in my collection the Tri-ang Hornby , Hornby Dublo , and the Hornby 75 tonne crane . You will find yours derails because you are running it to fast they only traveled slow in real life .

@TechandTrainsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, these decoders are reasonably good and cheap, although can be a bit noisy at times. Depending on the motor really depends on the realism when in use with the decoder. I've replaced some of mine in trains that they didn't work so well in. I found the Hornby 0-4-0s didn't like these particularly.

What chassis does this have andd what motor
@TechandTrainsChannel3 жыл бұрын
The non-motorised coaches all retain their original mk3 chassis. The motorised coach is part of a mk3 coach, with part of a Class 153 underframe, with the motor bogie once again from that of a Class 153. The only part of the 153 chassis used is the bit that the motor clips onto, and is heavily modified at one end.

You might want to "pin" this comment.. I found out the hard way and quite by accident.. that the Long Address "Must" contain four numbers or the loco won't move. I have a loco that worked out of the box on 3.. when I tried to enter the loco number which was 540.. I had a light showing track power ..but, no movement. I was beginning to be quite frustrated.. I put the loco number back to 3 and it moved again. . . just by chance I entered 0540.. and it solved the issue.
@TechandTrainsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Hmm... I've never had that issue with my powercab. I use 3-digit long addresses with no problems. Ie. for my multiple units, which are classes 350, etc, I use the class no as the long address with no problem. Might be an older firmware issue, since mine's only a year old.
