My introduction to buffalo was this song and Suzie sunshine on 2JJ in the late 70s.
@davetice37083 ай бұрын
Well, it's nice to know that at least 2JJ was kind enough to play one of our tunes, the commercial stations treated us like the unwanted. By the late '70s Suzie Sunshine would have been about 8 years out of date and I had left to join the Count Bishops in London, the band was basically defunct. It's a kind of justification that our work is still finding followers after all this time and people in places far beyond Australia are discovering it. Be well, Dave.

I spent 7 years in the UK between '77 and '84 and made 3 albums with The Count Bishops between '77 and '79 before singing in The Cobras for 4 years. Enjoyed every moment of my time there. It would be great to bring the "Revisited" line up across the seas; one thing I've learned is we never know what tomorrow may bring and I'm always open to invitations that make sense. Jim, when are you going to get over this silly carry on? I've never, ever suggested it's the original band; I've gone out of my way to give it a different name, I've made a point of telling all and sundry (including you) what it is. Yet you insist on trying to stop me doing what I have every right to do. You make a point of posting disparaging comments, threatening venue owners/promoters who choose to book the band; even going to the extent of registering "Buffalo Revisited" in an attempt to block me. How silly and vindictive can you be? All because I have refused your fantasy of a "reunion". In response I've registered "Dave Tice's Buffalo Revisited", so you've caused us both to fork out money neither of us needed to pay and without achieving anything except making it clear you are no friend of mine. You might remember that I AM the original singer, a founding member well before you were invited to join, I'm the only one on all 5 Buffalo albums and co-wrote almost every bloody song. It's about time you grew up and got on with your life.

@@davetice3708 Am I spot on is that why your band is being referred to as Buffalo Re-visited.
@davetice37082 жыл бұрын
@@donaldellis8952 Well, the whole (revisited) thing came about because I was asked by the promoters of the Evil Invaders festival held in Sydney, 2013 I think. I'd always said NO many times over the years but those guys were very persistent and their offer was hard to refuse. Their request was for me to perform a set of Buffalo songs with my choice of musicians; I've always been more interested in current projects and felt that Buffalo were just a part of my history, which I'd moved on from; but I'd reached a point where I was able to appreciate that we'd made good music and it was still loved by a lot of people. So, I agreed but insisted I wanted to make sure no-one had the impression it was "Buffalo", to me that would have been false advertising and a fraud, it's my opinion that honesty is a valuable commodity so I called it "Buffalo (revisited)" so everyone would know I wasn't lying. Whatever credibility/status Buffalo enjoys is something I would never want to devalue, it's also a matter of respect to fans. Of course since that first show I've been asked to do a few more and discovered that I still have a lot of affection for our old tunes; the last show in 2018 was recorded and is now on release as a live album through Ripple Music in the US. To me this is all amazing but shows that our creations still have relevance so many years later. Thankfully each time I've done these shows I've been able to assemble fantastic musicians to help me recreate the sound and energy.

@@donaldellis8952 As I said I'm quite busy with my current project, so, no I haven't considered that. It would require some serious financial backing for a start, I would not care to try it on a small budget. So that probably means a fairly large record company backing it. I stopped trusting those people a long time ago, been ripped off enough to avoid them like the plague they are. Also the work involved in writing a new album is daunting to say the least and no guarantee the results would be acceptable, particularly to me.I agree that Troy is a great guitarist, in fact all 3 of the players are great, that means that they tend to be kept pretty busy quite apart from any Buffalo (revisited) things, and they don't come cheap.

Have to make it clear Dave, that this is not the original band. I am the original singer/songwriter but the original Buffalo disbanded in 1977 and hasn't performed since then. I formed this (Revisited) version in order to satisfy never ending requests from concert promoters to perform songs from the band's repertoire and have done around half a dozen shows for that reason. This video is from a show we (Buffalo Revisited) did to celebrate 45 years since the release of Buffalo's album "Volcanic Rock". The guys I assembled for this gig are all Buffalo fans and great musicians in their own right; the show was recorded and video'd live on the night and the live audio is about to be released through "Ripple Music", on coloured vinyl, in the US on January 14th 2022. It's an extremely rare occurrance and not likely to happen very often (if at all) in the future. I think Ripple are already taking pre-orders.
