My introduction to buffalo was this song and Suzie sunshine on 2JJ in the late 70s.

Well, it's nice to know that at least 2JJ was kind enough to play one of our tunes, the commercial stations treated us like the unwanted. By the late '70s Suzie Sunshine would have been about 8 years out of date and I had left to join the Count Bishops in London, the band was basically defunct. It's a kind of justification that our work is still finding followers after all this time and people in places far beyond Australia are discovering it. Be well, Dave.

@@michaelreifenstein2114 That's what is known as an "urban myth" I think. Of course it would be nice to think it's true but I doubt it. Our musical journeys ran on parallel tracks so it's natural that there were similarities in some of our songs and common influences that informs what we played.

Thank you, unfortunately a UK visit has never been possible, the costs of such an enterprise are prohibitive and growing daily. I spent 7 years in the UK between '77 and '84 and made 3 albums with The Count Bishops between '77 and '79 before singing in The Cobras for 4 years. Enjoyed every moment of my time there. It would be great to bring the "Revisited" line up across the seas; one thing I've learned is we never know what tomorrow may bring and I'm always open to invitations that make sense. I know there are many that know about and appreciate Buffalo's music far beyond Aussie shores and would love to play for them if the opportunity came along.

Jim, when are you going to get over this silly carry on? I've never, ever suggested it's the original band; I've gone out of my way to give it a different name, I've made a point of telling all and sundry (including you) what it is. Yet you insist on trying to stop me doing what I have every right to do. You make a point of posting disparaging comments, threatening venue owners/promoters who choose to book the band; even going to the extent of registering "Buffalo Revisited" in an attempt to block me. How silly and vindictive can you be? All because I have refused your fantasy of a "reunion". In response I've registered "Dave Tice's Buffalo Revisited", so you've caused us both to fork out money neither of us needed to pay and without achieving anything except making it clear you are no friend of mine. You might remember that I AM the original singer, a founding member well before you were invited to join, I'm the only one on all 5 Buffalo albums and co-wrote almost every bloody song. It's about time you grew up and got on with your life.

@davetice3708
@davetice3708 2 жыл бұрын
@@donaldellis8952 Well, the whole (revisited) thing came about because I was asked by the promoters of the Evil Invaders festival held in Sydney, 2013 I think. I'd always said NO many times over the years but those guys were very persistent and their offer was hard to refuse. Their request was for me to perform a set of Buffalo songs with my choice of musicians; I've always been more interested in current projects and felt that Buffalo were just a part of my history, which I'd moved on from; but I'd reached a point where I was able to appreciate that we'd made good music and it was still loved by a lot of people. So, I agreed but insisted I wanted to make sure no-one had the impression it was "Buffalo", to me that would have been false advertising and a fraud, it's my opinion that honesty is a valuable commodity so I called it "Buffalo (revisited)" so everyone would know I wasn't lying. Whatever credibility/status Buffalo enjoys is something I would never want to devalue, it's also a matter of respect to fans. Of course since that first show I've been asked to do a few more and discovered that I still have a lot of affection for our old tunes; the last show in 2018 was recorded and is now on release as a live album through Ripple Music in the US. To me this is all amazing but shows that our creations still have relevance so many years later. Thankfully each time I've done these shows I've been able to assemble fantastic musicians to help me recreate the sound and energy.

@@donaldellis8952 As I said I'm quite busy with my current project, so, no I haven't considered that. It would require some serious financial backing for a start, I would not care to try it on a small budget. So that probably means a fairly large record company backing it. I stopped trusting those people a long time ago, been ripped off enough to avoid them like the plague they are. Also the work involved in writing a new album is daunting to say the least and no guarantee the results would be acceptable, particularly to me.I agree that Troy is a great guitarist, in fact all 3 of the players are great, that means that they tend to be kept pretty busy quite apart from any Buffalo (revisited) things, and they don't come cheap.

As I mentioned in reply to your other comment there is a live album now on release through "Ripple Music" in America and also distributed through "Planet" in Australia. The full live set of Volcanic Rock recorded at the above show on June 6th 2018. Both the companies I mention here are happy to take orders and mail out anywhere in the world. Ripple are producing the album on CD, special edition coloured vinyl (limited) and black vinyl. Although vinyl is in short supply and there is a delay for vinyl albums I'd suggest pre-ordering asap, I hear pre-orders are backing up very quickly. CDs are now being delivered if you prefer that medium. Ripple and Planet are easy to find on Facebook and both have web-sites.

We played two sets, first the complete Volcanic Rock album and then a set of songs from the bands's first and third albums. The full live set of Volcanic Rock is now on release through Ripple Music in America and distributed through "Planet" here in Australia. On CD, special edition coloured vinyl and black vinyl, plus I believe it's also available as a digital download. At present there is a delay on vinyl deliveries due to Covid and a shortage of vinyl worldwide but CDs are available now. The album can be ordered from either of the above mentioned companies who are happy to mail out, however, despite delays for vinyl I'd suggest placing a pre-order for those quickly because I hear they're selling fast. Have to make it clear Dave, that this is not the original band. I am the original singer/songwriter but the original Buffalo disbanded in 1977 and hasn't performed since then. I formed this (Revisited) version in order to satisfy never ending requests from concert promoters to perform songs from the band's repertoire and have done around half a dozen shows for that reason. This video is from a show we (Buffalo Revisited) did to celebrate 45 years since the release of Buffalo's album "Volcanic Rock". The guys I assembled for this gig are all Buffalo fans and great musicians in their own right; the show was recorded and video'd live on the night and the live audio is about to be released through "Ripple Music", on coloured vinyl, in the US on January 14th 2022. It's an extremely rare occurrance and not likely to happen very often (if at all) in the future. I think Ripple are already taking pre-orders.

@@davetice3708 I've been listening to buffalo for many years, your music has always accompanied a good drink of beer in the gray city Lima - Peru. sometimes we wonder if there will be a live or acoustic version of Hotel Ladies, it would be great to hear you interpret that song. my buffalos brothers would like to keep in touch greetings from Lima !

@@thelastdemonsrecords9338 Cheers mate, thanks for interpreting for this mono-language guy. Nice to hear we have supporters in Peru, I didn't realise our music had traveled so far. I must admit I haven't thought about "Hotel Ladies" for many years as I've been writing recording and performing newer songs and always moving forward. However, an acoustic version might be worth trying, I'll have a look at it and see if it'll work. I hope you people in Peru are not being affected too badly by the Corona Virus, here in Australia we are under many restrictions, large crowds are banned and many music venues closed while we try to deal with it. I do have gigs coming up but no way to know whether they'll still be allowed to open when the time comes. Stay safe, rock-on, Dave. BTW, I do have a Facebook page if you wish to visit or say howdy. Also a "Buffalo Revisited" page.

@@davetice3708 I hope you are safe too friend you never stopped rocking and you will not. Here there are also many restrictions as well as many irresponsible people, fortunately everything is fine where I am. The real listeners of these places appreciate your work, thanks for that and for considering "hotel ladies" version, I personally consider it one of the best slow damn rock songs and my last wish on earth would be to listen to that song along with beer. Naylamp says goodbye - Coronavirus does not affect buffaloes

@@thelastdemonsrecords9338 I have been thinking about your suggestion and yesterday spoke to Chris Turner who was the guitarist on our 5th album and played the guitar on Hotel Ladies of course. I mentioned your suggestion and that a live acoustic version might be fun to do. He agrees and sometime in the next couple of weeks we'll meet up and see what we can do with it. Stay tuned, Dave.

I’ve been trying to get a copy of your first 3 albums for a reasonable price. The only album that I have been able to get by you guys is a live album released in 2014 which is killer

Cheers Baron, the album you mention is a pirate copy of that show, and frankly not something I would have authorised if I'd been in a position to have a say in it. I appreciate your comment about it being "killer" and hope you manage to find copies of the original albums sometime so you can hear the band at it's best. Of course Buffalo always took great pride in their live shows and the Revisited version is the same in that way; but the live recording you mention is very "lo-fi". Still, perhaps that's what attracts you to it, so who am I to protest!!!

Why, thank you S N S, I've been a lucky guy able to indulge myself with the thing I love. It always makes me happy to know we touched some lives along the way and made some music that has endured. Dave.
