In Florida where native plants like nutrient poor soil, we cant really use fertilizer. But glyphosate is not the equivalent of uranium like most ambulance chasers would have you believe. Us it conservatively and with proper precaution, it will get the job done.

Hi, can you scarify the Kikuyo? I've it in my garden but I can see a lot of death kikuyo underneath, I never scarified my grass. I'm now learning more about grass caring, but I don't know if I scarify it I will kill the good kikuyo, because the runners go horizontally, and I might kill all of it?

@LilydaleInstantLawn2 жыл бұрын
Hello, paspalum grass is a different weed from Oxalis, so I wouldn't recommend Bin-Die. Please find the below link for further information. lawnsolutionsaustralia.com.au/lawn-care/paspalum-paspalum-dilatatum/

When should you start to see an actual blade of grass when planted from seed?
@LilydaleInstantLawn2 жыл бұрын
Really depends on what lawn seed, but generally if it is warm you should see germination within a couple of weeks.

Why do you need to get rid of oxalis?
@paulwary2 жыл бұрын
I don't think its possible to get rid of it, unless you kill the entire lawn, wait for a year and dig up or poison anything that comes up. Basically it never dies with a single spray of Bin-Die, and because the days when you can spray are quite few (no wind, no rain expected) you always miss the second or third spray. So it always comes back.

Oxalis will not kill any tree! Actually it is being used as a ground cover in orchards in some countries to protect the soil and enrich the eco system.

Great vid, didn't know about the bulbs! I've just overseeded with kikuyu seed a week ago but oxalis is sprouting before the seeds germinate... How can I kill off the pcalis without inhibiting new kikuyu germination? Or would I be better off weed-and-feeding the existing patchy kikuyu before oxalis takes over?
@LilydaleInstantLawn2 жыл бұрын
Once your Kikuyu has germinated you could use Oxafert, or hand weed or spray with Bin-die just spot spraying. You do need to be careful with Bin-die as it could knock around your young kikuyu.

Is the Stihl MM56 Multitool with lawn dethatching rake head any good for a Buffalo lawn?
@LilydaleInstantLawn3 жыл бұрын
You can use this for sure, just be careful not to be too rough and cut into your Buffalo too much. With dethatching Buffalo you can't cut down as hard as you would with Kikuyu or Couch, as it could do too much damage to the root system. It could be better just to use a mower cutting down low.
@PebblesChan3 жыл бұрын
Unlike what you said, my buffalo lawn has viable seeds that germinate (between pavers and in garden beds). I transplant the germinated seeds for lawn repairs.

Hard to tell without pictures, generally oxalis has a bulb. Perhaps you have clover, it is very similar looking to Oxalis. If you need further assistance, you are welcome to email our team at [email protected] with pictures.

I notice some areas of my buffalo are turning yellow, especially after I mow. The mower is on the 2nd highest setting which I’d say is at least 50mm and I would like to cut it lower but am worried about the discolouration. Also high traffic areas turn yellow - what can I use to recover those areas pls?
@LilydaleInstantLawn3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you do a de-thatch on your Buffalo this coming October. Also use Exceed Fertiliser to improve health.
@whodiedlee3 жыл бұрын
Easy fix mate. Cut it down to half height and continue to cut that height every 3rd day in summer. This forces your leaves to shoot lower and will repair. If you keep the height up it will never change. Gotta scalp it down and maintain that height. If you leave it for 4 weeks it will raise again but your back to square 1

How long does the regulation effect it last? Is it season long?

Hey Matthew, you should get a couple of months out of each application of PGR. So depending on your growing season you may need to apply a couple of times.

@candicefisher76593 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your comment. Your lawn will still be well fertilised from the slow release fertiliser of Lawn Launcher. I would recommend that you wait until your lawn has been installed for 6 weeks before fertilising again. If you Kikuyu hasn't been mown yet, I would suggest this be done on the highest setting of your mower. Cheers LIL

@LilydaleInstantLawn4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, it is ok to spray Bin-Die during winter dormancy, the Bin-Die is a selective herbicide so will kill the Oxalis not your lawn. Best to spray Oxalis as soon as you can.
