I didn't have a "Mickey" to help, so I covered the rubber ornament with a cloth and lightly hammered it down snug. Worked! Way better than having to take off the wheel well cover as other videos suggested. THANKS!

I am not using all the features it has but here are the most commonly used in my case: Bluetooth connectivity to listen music and answer calls, AC fan and temperature buttons in the frame (not in the user interface), rear camera view on screen, seats AC fan control and the display on/off option. So far I have no issues with the above. But here are some oportunities for improvement IMO: improve the boot time, reduce the time it takes to show the rear camera view when it boot and the gear is set to reverse, and bigger buttons to control the seat AC fan from the user interface.

Are there 4 alignment plates per side that I need to mark out? How bad is the alignment after the lift?im currently in the middle of this install and am having difficulty loosening the 24mm lower control arm bolts
@TundraMods
@TundraMods 2 ай бұрын
Yes, it is recommended to mark all of them. No alignment issues so far. I went to a near PepBoys the next day I finished the install. They only told me that the alignment took more time than expected. I recently installed a 6in lift kit but never had an issue with the ReadyLift kit installed in this video. I didn't use it on this install but an impact wrench will help a lot. I got one for the 6in lift kit and it saved me a lot of effort and time. If you don't have one you can try to apply some lubricant, extend the length of your wrench or ratchet using a tube, use a piece of wood to hit the wrench or ratchet. I am not sure what tool you have but these are some ideas that helped me in similar situations when an impact wrench was not available.

what made you go turbo over the magnuson SC? How do you think the transmission will hold up?
@TundraMods
@TundraMods 2 ай бұрын
Excellent question! In the beginning of March of this year Turbokits.com company released this kit for the first time. At that moment they were looking for like 2 or 3 DIY guys who want to work with them by giving feedback on the whole process from the install to the tuning to the driving, etc. Also, they were offering about $1,000 worth of extras and some discounts as well. At that moment I saw a great opportunity to make something different and learn about it at the same time. I don’t have experience with SC but based on what I saw on reviews the Magnuson SC is a great and a proven technology for Tundras with a good warranty. There is plenty of data about SC on Tundras, so at the end of this turbo kit install journey we can use all that information to compare both and help in the decision making of the 2 systems. My plan is to share every single aspect of this install in a transparent way so that we can make a fair comparison later. I don’t think we will see transmission issues compared to the similar impact that SC have over it but let’s see how it goes. I got all stock logs that will help to compare the impact in terms of the temp. among other stuff. I am supper excited about this install I will do my best to cover every detail. Stay tune for more!

I have a 2020 Platinum with the same wheels and seriously considering this setup. Are you still happy with the results. My concern is the safety of using spacers. I put a lot of highway miles on it.
@TundraMods
@TundraMods 4 ай бұрын
Yes, definitely. I am happy with with this setup. When I was installing the 6 in lift kit few days ago I had to remove it temporarely. They still looks like new and were very tie as well. No issues so far, around 30k miles with these spacers. The key for this install is the proper torque and the use of threadlocker. This set came with nuts too, but not using the right nuts is also a potential risk of failure. Hope this help.

Is there a way to keep dash lights on anytime engine is on? 2014 tundra 1794 edition.
@TundraMods
@TundraMods 6 ай бұрын
Good question! Well, this is what I think, please don't take this as correct this is just an unconfirmed idea. The idea will be to open the dimmer output circuit. This is literally cut that wire that goes from the dimmer to the lights and connect it to a 2 positions switch. Let say we have a switch with position A, B, and a common C terminal. The terminal A will be connected to the dimmer output and the common terminal C will be connected to the lights circuit. At this point if the switch it’s in the A position the lights will work as usual. The tricky part will be on terminal B. If the dimmer works with ground, then that terminal B must be connected to a ground when the truck is on. You can use a relay connected to the accessories circuit to provide ground to the switch when the truck is on. This is assuming that the dimmer works with ground. If the dimmer works with positive then the relay is no needed and the terminal B can be connected directly to the accessories circuit. But is very probable that the dimmer will work with ground. When the switch is in position B the dimmer will not have any effect and the lights will be On with full brightness. The other option will be to do something similar but opening the circuit in the dimmer input but this will be a very complex and even more risky. This is a really interesting question and this is only a conceptual idea. My recommendation will be to find the diagrams related to your model to confirm if this is possible and if you do this you have to be very careful because a short on this area will be an expensive repair or replacement. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage. 😬 BTW, this is something I can try on my own Tundra a make a video about it.
