At the moment in this cold weather I'm using Snipersling Black (rev 2) 0.5mm and tapered 22-14, but I'm about to change to 22-16 for testing (I think I can get more life out the bands). One of the big differences between the two slings is that the HGH has 27mm fork tips, which is better if you're using wider, heavier bands for hunting. The Evo has 25mm tips, which is also great for hunting. Both are great, I've never owned an HGH though, but they're super popular and a very successful design. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but all I can tell you is that the Evo Field Pro is godly!!

I have GZK SP hammer. TTF. I shoot GZK striver OTT daily, it's my favorite but other frames and types too. I don't like SP hammer clips and the striver clips are great. I got a tip from one of your videos and maybe I'll try TITANIUM GAL 2.0 next, if I can get a longer rod for it. My problem is that my frame width is 116 mm, I can't buy all models. Don't like the sights, I shoot the SP with.

I love the Evo because it's kind on the wrist. It's comfortable. How much sideways forces is there on this would you say compared? I don't like normal 90 degree holds but this looks comfortable. Ah man I'm gunna have to buy one
@WildandWiredUK
@WildandWiredUK 7 күн бұрын
There's no way it's as wrist friendly as the Evo, just because the straighter wrist takes off so much load. If you're using hunting thickness bands, I reckon the Evo all day. The hammers for me are more for target shooting, also because they have narrower forks (22mm ish forks compared to 25mm for the Evo and 27mm for the HGH)

Love from Texas. I just started shooting again after 50 years.. I was an avid bow hunter until my shoulder gave out. I bought a Daisy B52 with tubes and it wasn’t much easier than drawing back my bow. Found you on utube and bought a cheap flat band sling shot and was hitting targets 2” to 3” in diameter at 10 meters. I’m getting good enough to hunt rabbits and pigeons and with .50 bands I am amazed at the velocity with 9.5 steel balls. Keep up the good work.

That precision s looks like a lovely bit of kit. Like you, I like,e a brace grip and really struggled with the GZK Capricorn. I found that after practice, it became my most accurate frame which is likely down to the repeatability of the hold. Shame they are a bit bulky for the pockets which is their only drawback.

Weird, I just ordered the 13 quid alloy hammer grip one from Temu a couple of hours ago. The reason your order came so fast is because it was already here. They'll have had it in a 'local warehouse' those ones are also exempt from the 15 quid minimum order. Also, don't buy from China, we are hypocrites for doing so. We are supporting slavery and totalitarianism for a small money saving.

Regarding batteries I'd recommend 18650, or 26650's, although bigger the run times are worth it, and, torch options for 18650 is far more. 'Anduril' or sim8lar sounding programs in the torch offer everything you need, long press on lights in the lowest of the low setting for actual stealth, press and hold it ramps up and down max to min min to max, and double top you get full mode, remembers etc, it might be programmed with 'auduril', you'll find it quickly in the flashlight search. Well worth it....extremely long run times when you can dim.

Happy new year to you too Nick. I'm currently rekindling the love for slingshots I had as a boy. Formally a wrist brace type slingshot user (BW), I've now decided, thanks to inspiring people like you, to go down the traditional flat band catty path. I've only been on that path for a few weeks, and I'm still struggling to find my ideal frame/set up etc. Is there any type of formula for working out what size frame I'm suited for, or is it just a case of trying lots of different ones? Please keep up the good work!
@WildandWiredUK
@WildandWiredUK 12 күн бұрын
hello mate, happy new year! There's no formula, it's a bit hit and miss. The frame width is all about your anchor point on your face. It's the most important part of the shooting cycle imho. 85mm frames tend to be above or on the cheekbone, 90mm tend to be just below the cheek, 95mm above the mouth and 100-105 around the mouth. Obviously differs from person to person but that's a rough guide. 90mm is the standard in the UK and US, or just the most popular, so it's a good starting point because there's a ton of options for you. 90mm is nice because it sits tightly under the cheekbone, which makes it a relatively easy anchor point to repeat reliably....but if you've got a nice distinguishing feature on your face that you can anchor from, go with that!! I'm about to record a video on adjustable frames, also good because you can find the best anchor point on your face with a bit of mucking about with frame width. Hope this helps! Simple answer, choose a 90mm and go from there :)

@@WildandWiredUKmany thanks for your reply. That's very well explained, and easy to understand 👌🏻 I was quite excited when you showed the adjustable frame in this video. I was thinking it would be a perfect way to find my ideal frame size, without trying lots of different styles/shapes etc. I then found out it was made from titanium, so that's an absolute bonus as far as I'm concerned 😍. I look forward to your next video. Thanks once again.

For me it's usually happens if I'm not careful and straighten my wrist too much (Evo style). It can set the alignment between ball and frame out, and I think that's when the hits start to happen...but I really don't know for sure...!!! It only happens for me on Chinese slings with weird handles
