I keep breaking the main rotor off in mid air. I put way to much pressure working the collective. I can hover easily and land precisely, but dang is a real huey's main rotor that weak? It snaps right off if I drop it down then jerk it back up. It should be able to withstand that force.

Find ich super, dass der Funk in euren Kampagnen nun auch tatsächlich vom zuständigen KI-Commander durchgeführt wird. In früheren Huey Kampagnen, wie PL oder Argo, war es sehr umständlich in aller Hektik auch noch Frequenzen selbst ändern zu müssen, während der Commander "faul" zusieht... Unter Beschuss oder beim Maneuvering schonmal sehr stressig :D Stone Sky hat mich dann in MAD mit diesem Feature überrascht, auch das Scharfschalten der Waffen zum Beispiel, und nun finde ich diese Dinge auch bei euch wieder. Sehr gut! Tolle Videos, toller Kanal! Werde eure Kampagnen mit absoluter Sicherheit auch noch in Angriff nehmen! Nach MAD habe ich nicht vor weitere Huey Kampagnen zu fliegen, in denen ich Pilot und Commander zugleich sein muss. Stormfront steht nun auf meiner 'To-Do'-Liste :)

Your in cockpit FOV seems very wide, and distorts the view out of the window.

Next time, put the Egyptian Air Force skin on it.

Super helpful! There have been a few times I’ve been stuck waiting on a trigger not really sure what I did wrong. This makes a lot more sense! I’m on mission 5 today and having a blast.

I'm at mission 3 , i love it. the new screen space shadows makes VFR (particularly the densely vegetated canyons) such a pleasure to fly in VR. beautiful work, i'm looking forward to fly the next mission.

I wish I had seen this video a long time ago. I learned it through trial and error. So many videos online of helicopters in DCS and Msfs but almost nobody hovers or hover taxis like a helicopter would in real life. Thanks for the video. Excellent job.

Very well described tork, collective throttle and Cycstick. With this mod, i tend to do a left hand loop down when landing, avoiding slowing down using the Cystick and colective. Plus in the cruise and on landing. Small tweak lowing the throttle from flight no more than 1/4 turn keeping an eye on the VS indicatore also creates a smooth cruise no lifting of the nose and on landing 10-20 foot from the floor ( just below builing hight) reduce throttle and collective, with yaw peddle in small increamebt(1/8 of a turn) to smooth landing and eliminate ground effect. But also remember to fly you helicopter down to the gound from height using cycstick thsn trayinto hover down.

I loaded version 1.2 which truly helped the flight model, but I can't use weapons. As DCS is starting, I get a Msg telling me the weapons will be denied. Any ideas for correcting this?

I've really enjoyed Version 1.1 but cannot find the download location for the update 1.2. Can you tell me where it is. I've looked on DCS and the Low-Level-Heaven Disdcord. Excellent and informative vids. Great job!

1.2 is a much improved over 1.1 but on landing I found it still a bit difficult to handle when enter the vortex or ground effect phase.

In version 1.2 of the flight model, many things have been fixed, and the OH-6 flies great now. Still some fine tuning needed, but now it is really funny, and I set back my collective to 100% 😎

Finally I can hover, take off and land in one piece. 😊

Just tried the 1.2 and I now can hover (barely) and take off but landing is a different story and I yet have to bring her back in one piece because as soon as I enter the translational lift this thing just spins out of control and crashes. Kudos to the developers 🙂

Great flying, I'm not sure I'll ever fly so precisely... I've noticed that I have to use much more left pedal for my takeoff to stay straight - was there some fly model change during those 4 years?

I certainly don't want to offend anyone, but there are 2 fundamental things that strongly influence the discussion and why we should be very open to other opinions, even very different ones. The first is that with all the different flight controls that are used, whether $20 joysticks, $300 HOTAS or $1500 helicopter controls, there are very different impressions and therefore different approaches to solutions, all of which are very individual but not wrong. However, I myself am of the opinion that semi-professional flight controls probably achieve the most realistic result. The second thing is, and I speak from the experience of a flight instructor who has taught several players here in DCS, is that the understanding of what it means to fly helicopters often has little to do with the specific helicopter characteristics. The helicopter domain below 100 feet and slower than 50 knots is avoided as much as possible by many people who come from a fixed wing flying background and the surprise is great when they see what it's all about and how relatively easy it is to learn if you focus on it and know what the procedures should be. I think the discussion and the exchange of different opinions is great and important, but we should not ignore or devalue opinions, nor should we overestimate opinions. For example, I know some RL pilots who find DCS quite difficult and come to some opinions that I find hard to understand. And I myself have often been wrong in life.
