Nice summary of Blender! I only started when 2.8 was released, and it was a random thing, I hadn't really done 3D before... and it blew my mind and changed my life. I just got back from BCON in Amsterdam, my 3rd BCON so far, Ton and his team are amazing and I have all the respect in the world for what they are doing.

I was there since the first Linux Version (1998), first GBUC, was employed at Not a Number and NaN and wrote most of the documentation these days. You captured all quite well! Thanks for the flashback!

2:50 Thanks for including this shot. 15 years ago, I was on stage with Soenke, Colin and high-fiving Nathan during a Sintel presentation, I imagine at Bconf, first time I see this sequence, it took me by surprise😆Good memories.

Haha of course! It was such a good shot and you can feel the excitement. It’s crazy how far Blender and the community have come since then!

I know those since they ask to save from the investor a little bit before they make the Short ( Elephant Dreams ) with the help of contributor team and Basam Kurdali as a director. This soft became massive short after short from Big Buck Bunny to Sindel, it became user friendly with sculpt , real time U.V painting and grease pencil.

The right-handed app that will never be user-friendly, what you see is what you guessed. ;)

I believe Blender is going to continue getting more and more competitive in the space. It’s improved so much in ten years, especially compared to other 3D software companies.
@jeanpepin58692 ай бұрын
@@xrmotion Yes, but having to specify that you select the whole thing rather than just the surface is a good example of a Linux head thinking backwards. ;)

Why not make a monthly donation feature for about 3-4 dollars? I an dirt poor, but I would definitely donate to Blender if so.

Unreal Engine I think would be a lot of fun to do some research on. I've also been thinking about Houdini, Cinema 4D, After Effects, and (or) maybe even Mid-journey... There's so many! What video would you like to see?
@jamesconkle91582 ай бұрын
@@xrmotion I've seen a great one about Softimage, and from what I know Houdini has an interesting history with Prisms and Touch designer. AI tools would be great. You might want to add Davinci Resolve to the list!
@xrmotion2 ай бұрын
Great suggestions! Touch Designer has been taking off recently and Softimage would be a good one too. Autodesk in general would be great to explore.
