Is this song about one of Mary's abortions? Or did she always miscarry? Either way, it seems like a song for a lost child. sad

Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again I cruise around with the radio on Make me feel alright Make me feel alright Wide open highway and the sun going down Make me feel alright Make me feel alright I grab my guitar and pick out a song You wear that pretty dress we never could go wrong We had no money but never seem to care Our love took us everywhere Bring it back again Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again Bring it back again I cruise around in a rag top ride Make me feel alright Make me feel alright But now I got no one by my side Make me feel alright Make me feel alright Though I never share my memories No one by my side to comfort me I need your little hand to hold in mine Got to hold you all the time Bring it back again Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again Bring it back again Is it any wonder, why I love you so Oh you were my first love When your arms met mine You just stole my heart for all time Bring it back again Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again Bring it back again I cruise around with the radio on Make me feel alright Make me feel alright Wide open highway with the sun going down Make me feel alright Make me feel alright Though I know I'm the only one to blame I've had enough of this sorrow and pain I know that deep down you still feel the same Bring me your love back again Bring it back again Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again Bring it back again Come on bring it back again Bring it back. Bring it back. Bring it back again Bring it back again Come on bring it back again Bring it back again

Honest criticism: This song has the sense of danger & desperation but not the lyrics to back it up. I was curious about these guys due to the major impact & influence they clearly had on the evolution of rock and feel it's the best of their "hits" from my not-so-deep dive. I actually circled back to this song just now to see if it was the guitar riff that was stuck in my head (it was). The song structure is great, but still, the lyrics just don't live up to the mood. Something more desperate and subversive would really put it over the top & may have made them the biggest band in the world back then or at the very least cited by many more than just the circle of glam metal bands they spawned. I can clearly hear the innovation they brought & the importance they had in the scene they helped forge at that time. Just wish they had a more inspired lyricist. To be clear, the lyrics don't have to be smart & might've been even worse off if they were. Plenty of dumb lyrics are brilliant. They just need to be interesting and impactful.

This band did huge impact for Finland in 80s. They didn't appreciate music like this. People listened rockabilly music and were beating kids with long hair like that. But good that they moved to Stockholm that was more international. And I'm happy that Mike didn't get too bitter on Finland. Finnish people are sometimes just slow to adapt new ideas. Now it's of course different country than 80s.

I’m going through a breakup right now and this song tells my story. She and I had high hopes for our relationship until we had an argument & she decided to end our relationship instead of working things out. This song will hopefully help me heal although after losing her and my job , things are looking dim & I’m detesting life right now. I’ve always loved the Cure and this album as well as this song.

Such a beautiful chorus. For those saying Hanoi Rocks should've been bigger, you're right. But after reading their book, I don't think they'd have lasted long even if the Razzle tragedy never happened. They were a mess (except Monroe), with Andy and Nasty on heroin, and Sam and Razzle partied hard too. Monroe, who was a health nut in' 84, likely would've gotten fed up with their addictions. Those guys lived hard, living the Motley lifestyle. It's possible they could've gotten through it, but unlikely. Also, in the mid 80s, arena rock was what sold and Hanoi were more traditional rock N roll. They may have looked like the bands that copied them and sold millions, but their sound was pretty different. They're still one of the greatest rock bands ever, and fortunately they reunited later and also their side and solo projects are very good.
