It would be the same as connecting it to a relay. Cut off the old sensor, cut off the higo connector on the mt5e, connect the wires.

It should be compatible with any controller as the signal goes between the throttle and the controller. The pedal assist sensor basically sends a throttle signal to your controller instead of your actual hand throttle.

No issues. I can put it back on now that I’m running the electronic PAS exclusively, but there’s no need to here. It barely rains, and dust isn’t a problem.

@@premium1661 I used a Dremel and round file to make it 12mm. Also had to Dremel down the edges so it would slide into the swing arm correctly.

Yes, there is a electronic kit that kaniwaba. I use that exclusively now.

I’ve never been able to flip it. It’s a lot more stable under load.

No, you need the power pedal kit for that. Even so, the gearing is terrible for pedaling. It’s mostly for legality in certain places.

I'm not sure what the clearance looks like on the single crown fast ace forks that come on the x160. Pretty sure 19s will clear, doubtful that a 21 will fit as most of these bikes came with 26" mtb wheel forks.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it was only made for legality purposes. The factory Sur Ron pedal kit is terrible.

I actually use it exclusively now. I removed the power pedal kit and only use the electronic PAS now. I also went back to a 64T sprocket as that puts me in class 2 no assist and class 3 pedal assist speeds.

Also, curious what your front fender mud hugger is? It’s another perfect product to help the SurRon look more like an electric bmx or mtb :-)

@@dexgray4581 it’s a mucky nutz fender. I’m also using a 26” front wheel.

It’s technically street legal as is in eco mode. Doesn’t exceed 30mph. Motorized bicycles don’t need operational pedals. Riding on trails and bike paths is where you need pedals. If you want to be safe, you can run a 64T sprocket. Even in sport mode it won’t go past 30 and will have incredible torque and climbing power.

@@kaimovezz enforcement of ebike laws is really subjective. You have to be 16 or older to ride ebikes legally in this state. So regardless of configuration, they can always get you on that.

@@skyungjae oh well in my area kids my age and younger ride e bikes everywhere so i think it will be fine i ride mine to school and downtown everyday and i have no problem i’m just worried cops will pull me over

Yeah, my chain is still the original. Just takes time getting it aligned just right because the freewheel has lateral play.

Take your time with the chain alightment. When you roll the rear wheel backwards and you feel/hear binding and popping, the chain is not aligned. A single pop here and there won’t cause any issues.

It will go max speed in sport mode with just pedaling. I thought I had made a video, but it does say it will per kaniwaba's website.

Slightly higher top speed, but slower take off. The gearing is the same as running a 42T sprocket when stock is 48T.

It's actually not that bad when it's loaded up. Definitely not designed for speeds faster than regular pedal bikes.

​@@skyungjaemy trailer handles 25 30 just fine. You trailer is a heck of a lot better built than mine.

Yeah, there are 3 modes on the handle bar switch. Throttle only, both, pedal assist only.
