It would be the same as connecting it to a relay. Cut off the old sensor, cut off the higo connector on the mt5e, connect the wires.

It should be compatible with any controller as the signal goes between the throttle and the controller. The pedal assist sensor basically sends a throttle signal to your controller instead of your actual hand throttle.

Agree wouldn't recommend for fast e-bikes or steep downhills. Washers help the wheels work better had to tighten the axels on mine. I put the quick release inside so less attractive for thieves. Works fine on a push bike and its very light. 50kg of tools with lots of speed ramps an so far so good.

Change the wheels to 26 inch and pump them up to 60 psi ,it will take a heavier load and should ride smoother ,mite have to bend the connect arm slightly

No issues. I can put it back on now that I’m running the electronic PAS exclusively, but there’s no need to here. It barely rains, and dust isn’t a problem.

@@premium1661 I used a Dremel and round file to make it 12mm. Also had to Dremel down the edges so it would slide into the swing arm correctly.

No, you need the power pedal kit for that. Even so, the gearing is terrible for pedaling. It’s mostly for legality in certain places.

Can a 21” front wheel go on a stock Segway x160? Also, can a 19 x 1.6 go on the front as well? Not sure which wheels with fit. I’m trying to upgrade for my 16 and 12 year old Sons. Thinking 21/19 for older and 19/16 or 19/17 for younger.

I'm not sure what the clearance looks like on the single crown fast ace forks that come on the x160. Pretty sure 19s will clear, doubtful that a 21 will fit as most of these bikes came with 26" mtb wheel forks.

I just bought one of these bikes the other day and it has a belt kit on it and my first ride out it broke. I don't know how old the belt was so I'm hoping it was just cause it was old. Ordered two new ones so hopefully I have one that lasts longer than one ride.

This kit is not practical. But it does work, sort of. If you're battery goes dead, you will not be able to pedal home. I wouldn't buy it.

I actually use it exclusively now. I removed the power pedal kit and only use the electronic PAS now. I also went back to a 64T sprocket as that puts me in class 2 no assist and class 3 pedal assist speeds.

hi i have a question i too live in socal and ride and e bike, i have been planning to make some money and get a surron, i am 13 i heard by adding petals to the sur ron it makes it “street legal” or at least to the point where you can tell police it’s not illegal is that true?

It’s technically street legal as is in eco mode. Doesn’t exceed 30mph. Motorized bicycles don’t need operational pedals. Riding on trails and bike paths is where you need pedals. If you want to be safe, you can run a 64T sprocket. Even in sport mode it won’t go past 30 and will have incredible torque and climbing power.

@@kaimovezz enforcement of ebike laws is really subjective. You have to be 16 or older to ride ebikes legally in this state. So regardless of configuration, they can always get you on that.

Yeah, my chain is still the original. Just takes time getting it aligned just right because the freewheel has lateral play.

Take your time with the chain alightment. When you roll the rear wheel backwards and you feel/hear binding and popping, the chain is not aligned. A single pop here and there won’t cause any issues.

Did you notice any loss of torque or top speed not running the belt drive with the smaller supermoto wheels. Apparently the belt sprocket is optimized to mimic the stock chain sprocket ratio but with smaller wheels.

Slightly higher top speed, but slower take off. The gearing is the same as running a 42T sprocket when stock is 48T.

Does the power pedal kit from kaniwaba’s freewheel mean that on a SurRon or x260 you can cruise down a hill or up a hill still using throttle as your main propulsion without having to keep up with your feet like a regular bike? That would be my worry with a pedal kit… compatibility. Etc. thank you

Yeah, there are 3 modes on the handle bar switch. Throttle only, both, pedal assist only.

My secondary chain make a lot of noise when the front sprocket and the chain are lightly worn, the chain links are touching the front sprocket screws, this design is a shame + this sprocket is f.... overpriced
