Love this interview

I read Dan grew up in Montreal, and he mentions being half French Canadian. I’m aware that there is an Anglo area in the city, but from my few visits to the city French Canadians seemed to usually have French accents, and Anglo Canadians from Montreal usually sounded like Canadians from elsewhere in English speaking Canada. I speak decent European French but I noticed that when the locals realised I wasn’t Canadian they dropped French and spoke English, even if I persisted in French, so I stopped speaking it, unless someone wanted to stay in French, which happened occasionally.. So I’m guessing that Dan was fairly comfortable mixing in with the local English Canadian scene in Quebec.

What a sweet guy.

I am happy to see the emphasis on character and plot development as well as doing something different. Movies from Hallmark and its competitors are often overly formulaic, repeatedly echoing the same basic themes with actors/actresses portraying too much behavioral commonality from movie to movie to credibly depict individual representations of different people in different settings. Thus, with too many common denominators emerging, after multiple movies I began to see Cindy, Cindy, Cindy, or Merritt, Merritt, Merritt instead of Cindy Busby or Merritt Patterson taking the role of different people. This made my psychologist girlfriend and I contemplate a return to documentaries, but then we happened upon films with Nikki DeLoach, who was refreshingly more three-dimensional and realistic. Her intelligence is obvious throughout this interview that also manifests her people skills that combine to give her a competitive edge over actresses who think that perfunctorily reciting their lines is enough. It’s not. However, the primary drawback of Hallmark-ish movies is that they too often rehash old themes with minor variations yet never capitalize on countless other possibilities, as if the writers lead overly insular lives and hence are oblivious to much of what goes on in the real world, which is a genuinely interesting place brimming with incredible diversity. Instead, Hallmark movies tend to focus on synthetic trivialities amplified with contrived conflict 18 minutes before the beautiful stars predictably kiss at the end - and if they weren’t so gorgeous, would anyone watch? The acid test of a good movie is that it would be equally captivating if the actors weren’t genetically blessed with good looks. Humans are capable of vicarious pleasure, and because we are wired to think more highly of attractive people, we hunger for that kiss at the end. This is a form of discrimination, and frankly it bothers me. I managed to weed out my other biases, but this one is difficult to vanquish. Perhaps the best way to circumvent it is to build movies on more substantive themes. One impediment to that is (from what I’ve read) Hallmark is tickled pink it found a way to enchant users, so it beats that formula to death while turning a blind eye to novel topics that would engage more viewers in more ways with less risk of them losing interest. Implementing this could elevate Hallmark movies to an entirely different plane providing not only ephemeral enjoyment but also sparking life-changing insights and helping to make the world a better and more prosperous place. UPDATE: A few days later, I saw Cindy Busby in another Hallmark film, A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love, one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Cindy and the others were superb. Why did they shine here but disappoint elsewhere? The answer gets to the heart of the matter: this movie was based on a true story whereas many Hallmark movies are based on purely the imagination of writers who clearly haven’t experienced enough of the real world.

The movie I will always love you. It's so good.I have watched it over and over. I wish you could make A part two.

The number of fans watching has greatly dropped. News is not always honest when they say its growing. I am aware that they are airing older episodes still and people are watching. Other news does show that s10 and s11 the numbers dropped and it will continue to be impacted going forward unless they change things up again. I really felt that s10 has toxic scenes in it and many of the characters became background and immature. I don't like how Elizabeth is now. She is a different person and truly is not suitable to marry anyone in her condition. Her breaking up a relationship and then jumping into another one is immature. Honestly, I see her as a teenager now in the way she acts around Nathan. This is why I don't like seeing them together. At least when she was with Lucas, she was more mature. I didn't like how she treated him and how she changed again in s10. I was very angry by the end of the season and still am with s11 and I don't feel that it is going to improve in s12. There are a lot better show runners and writers out there. They basically scrapped everything from s6-9 to start the story over and thought that they could do it well, but it isn't not working.

I love the character of Angela and the whole Canfield family. You are a good actress Vienna.
