I stayed at the Bothwell about 15 years ago a it was an experience. The rooms were pretty small and very basic. There was a dining room that served breakfast. The best part was the old hand operated elevator, the clerk to me to my floor and was pretty good at aligning the elevator to the floor. You could really picture what this hotel was like in the early 1900’s when the town was the county’s BIG City.

Magma intrusion: Magma was forced into existing rock formations. Cooling: As the magma cooled, it contracted and formed a series of hexagon-shaped columns of phonolite porphyry, a type of rock. Erosion: Over millions of years, erosion exposed the cooled magma, creating the tower's striking formation. The columns give the tower its striped, textured look. Hardly a mystery.

The setting, layout, and video were interesting ... but having the worded parts of every lettered sign, every piece of art, and every storefront read aloud to the viewer like he was 3 years old was extremely nerve-racking, and made the video intolerable 😖. I love old town squares! This one had that good old Victorian architecture that I love. I liked being able to see the dates on the buildings to see the range of growth. I could envision horse drawn wagons as well as old model A's and T's on that road. 1972 was a big year for them! I'm glad it was listed and preserved. I wish they still designed and built buildings like that.

That's a gorgeous house that I'd never heard of before. I'd like to see what it's like inside, though it's obviously being lived in, I wonder if they offer historic tours. Such interesting architecture. As to whether or not there are ghosts.... I'd have to go inside and see what I think. I definitely believe in ghosts and have seen a couple in my time. I have stories about going to the Farrar School house in Iowa as well as the Villisca/Moore house in Iowa. Thanks for the info and footage of this beauty!

First off thank you for watching. It is open for tours. Unfortunately I got there to early. The tours are Thursday-Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 1-4. The outside of it I felt a heavy presence like I was being watched. Definitely will go back to film inside. What were Farrar School house and Villisca house like?
@SarahGreen5238 ай бұрын
@@ExploreAmericana The Farrar School was weird. We went a few hours before sunset when our time was booked, to go through it and see what it felt like during the day. I felt more stuff during the day than I did at night. There was something going on in the principal's office that creeped me out. Our K2 lit up in only one specific spot in a school room which was weird, and later that night we had quite a bit of activity around our trigger object (an apple) in that same room. I taped the whole time for evps and I captured a ton of whispered voices that repeated things we said. Some of the video footage had a shadow following me around all night. I wasn't ever frightened, just felt the vibes and there was something about a room in the gym we weren't allowed to go into that felt very, very dark. Villisca was just sad. I already knew the story there before we got there, so I was skeptical that my feelings might be influenced. I saw stuff there and felt it and heard it. Hands coming out between the stair railings as I walked up.... someone either sitting on the bed next to me (big temperature drop too), I heard people coming up the very creaky stairs and shone a light over there for which ever team mate it was that was coming up, but no one was on the stairs. And the ovulus kept saying my partners name, but I don't trust the ovulus so I discounted that. We got some pictures of orbs all over the outside. I'm not a big orb person, but it was a good amount of large and small blue white ones. Could have been water vapor I suppose, so I don't set too much stock in them. Mostly I felt strongly the presence of Mrs. Moore and I got a very intense impression that we were imposing on her space. I heard that word "imposition" clearly in my head. Then some of the people in my group started provoking for a reaction and I left the house. I don't agree with provoking spirits. Especially ones who went through so much trauma. I think I'll go on and sub up to your channel. You're pretty new it seems and I like fresh faces who go places I've never heard of before.
