@@Jake_Innes well you know not every car is stock but looks stock to meet the rules. Double the frames, I beam behind the front bumper, double the fenders, gut the hood , gear it for the 1/16 mile corner to the X coast the rest of the way. Plated the wheels and truck lug nuts and 3/4 ton truck springs and truck sway bars. It goes to the center and have mercy on the guy who thinks he will beat you to the X. Then you aim for the rear bumper so they ain't there when you get there. Slower car well they ain't coming back without major repairs. That's why a big block engine has torque instead of whinnying toy small blocks. Then the inspector is like wow you only got a dent in the fender and hood. If they scaled it fully it would be 5000 pounds instead of 2200. Minimum weight right 👍. We bounced that scale and they let us go. Then roll bars front bumper to rear end. Hit past that point would be just a side swipe for control.

Was with the Viper demo team (F-16's at Shaw) while active duty as a crew chief. The purpose of the sneak pass, in addition to getting some amazing laughs, cheers, and screams, is to show you how quickly these planes can be right on top of you without you knowing they are coming. Humans really have no comprehension of what it means to travel 10+ times the speed of cars on the highway until they see and feel it in person.

That abort doesn’t surprise me. Military planes abort a lot if something isn’t quite right. Thrust me I know. Some sit in the chocks for an hour then abort and you spent most of the day getting the plane ready then it aborts but you want everything right. Safety first! Also those Blue Angels planes have a lot of hours on them but have shiny paint jobs.
@Jake_Innes2 ай бұрын
They aborted the take off because they forgot to bring the oxygen mask. They shipped it the next day and he took off. They also spent some time fixing the plane a little more afterwards.

Sorry kids, you have it all wrong. What you saw was simply the wingman flying down with the lead. Once the lead is down, the wing goes around to be next in formation. Blue Angles have their own style of flying that is specific to the type of demonstration flying they do. This was nothing more than a normal landing. Spend 20 years of your life in Naval Aviation and find out for yourself like I did, biggest rush in the world for those who make the team. Raven
