as a manual wheelchair user, licensed driver, and former first responder, the only grace I give when I see an emergency service vehicle in a well-marked accessible parking space is during an actual active emergency situation...... There is not valid excuse otherwise !!!

And for all the training and driving experience of a Bus Operator, you don't even get any consideration from car insurance companies. But guess who does? Our "first responder's." Along with pension's and added perks and respect. As "Essential" Personnel," Bus operator's are often left out of the conversation and recognition that is bestowed upon Police, Fire and EMS. That's not taking away from those fields at all, but Transit Bus Operator's deserve the full recognition and benefits for what they do to serve the public and our economies. I suspect it has to do with... "politics."

The Port Authority police are fantastic Last summer, a friend of mine asked for their assistance to help her locate somebody that was having a mental health crisis and they did an absolutely amazing job They located the person and did not mistreat her. They took very good care of her and were very respectful.

Although I live in Orlando, Florida now, I was recently back in my hometown of the 'burgh and saw all of the new improvements (these signs included)! My coworkers and I decided to work downtown one day to meet up; being able to use my phone to pay bus fare was quite a welcomed option indeed. 👍
