you should watch the opera. there is a full version here on youtube at the paris opera that was pretty good. costuming was a bit lack luster for the Queen of the Night, but Sarastro's was quite interesting. Papgeno is by far my favorite character and you'll find yourself laughing at his antics quite a bit. and you are right, it is impressive. the fact that modern pop stars have virtually zero singing talent and are held up on a pedestal when divas like Diana Damrau and Maria Callas are largely unknown, is an absolute shame.

The most impressive part about this is the fact that's she's moving around and acting whilst singing it. To get the sort of breath support for this aria, most sopranos just post up and hold on for the ride basically. The sheer fact that she can walk around, sling those high notes in rapid succession, and act it out puts her in the top echelon in my opinion.

I hope you watch the entire thing from the 1st to the last episode. You will die laughing. Blackadder and the league of gentlemen are fantastic too. And grouch Marx.
