I think Emma is doing OK. She achieved a slightly better score against Vondrousova than did Yulia Putintseva (4th seed and world number 21). It was perhaps unfortunate to upgrade her out of the qualifiers, which would have given her match practice and familiarity with the courts.

Although the intention does not matter for the disqualification of Belgium, it was intentional, if you look closely Bergs does not jump after or ever before approaching Garín, he jumps just when he has him next to him.

Not sure I've ever disagreed more with Damian haha. I've had a small difference in player evaluations game wise, but advocating for a default there is absurd. They were crossing the net at the same time. They ran into each other and Zizou was running. This is BS. Equating it to someone throwing racquets or hitting balls that hit someone. Those are one-sided. Poor thought process on this. Zizou was pumped off a break, he didn't run and jump into him to hurt him. He held his hands up and said sorry twice indicating accidental contact. Hell, Garin sees him pumped and running, maybe wait till he sprints to his bench before walking in front of the chair? Not to mention, Garin has a history of being a terrible sportsman, so this seems like exaggeration for effect. A bruise? Give me a break. Get over it. Loser. And Massu, one of the more respectable people in tennis looks AWFUL here too saying there still hasn't been an apology when it happened ON COURT right after the incident. Idiotic.
@CzechTennisGuy2 күн бұрын
Finally someone with a common sense and not a witch hunt mentality that is ruining todays society. Changing sides looks like this - both opponents look at each other and one is given the privilige to cross first. But if both don't care, one is running, one is walking with his head down, this can happen. Both are at fault. Both didn't pay attention. Bergs received warning which is perfectly fine and that's it. There is zero comparison with reckless ball hitting, racket smashing and acting like an idiot like Medvedev or Rublev.

The beauty of tennis is a "gentleman's" sport. We are clear that the blow was unintentional. but since it is not a physical contact sport, regardless of whether it was casual or not, there was a physical attack and it should be punished. This leaves a precedent in tennis. greetings from chile

@@broncoguy4862 so Garin should be disqualified because he collided with his opponent? It was an accidental collision between two guys. The one guy was about to win.
