I so understand your feelings about smaller shows vs Rhinebeck! I have never been to Vermont Sheep and Wool, but I love NJ Sheep and Wool!Is Rhinebeck on your list this year? ❤

Always a joy to watch your podcast. Thanks! You talked about the Libby app for getting library books. Are you also aware of the Hoopla app? It is also allows you to checkout ebooks and audio books from your library. I have found that Libby and Hoopla off different selections, so I always check both when looking for a book.

I’m with you Chelsea I am on such a garter stitch binge right now. I’m working on a simple scarf/shawl called 3S shawl. Just enough pattern with eyelet rows every so often and a picot bind off. Thanks for sharing your makes.

OK I’m so sorry the girls aren’t excited about hand knit sweaters. My boys went through the same at their age and I started making funny hats and mitts for them and they loved them (zombie hats with I cord brains, dead fish hats, Christmas tree hats…you get the idea). Maybe the girls will like crazy hats and mitts like my boys do🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi Susan, should you ever be interested in doing a combination of cross stitch, speciality stitches, blackwork and beading, I highly recommend looking up Chatelaine Designs. They are some of the most beautiful cross stitch projects I have ever seen. Complicated, but so much fun!

Thank you. Great podcast!! I am a mom of a 14 & 16 yo and totally feel your nervousness of changes and next steps. TRUST yourself and your partner decisions when it comes to the girls. Lean into the girls growth. Give yourself permission to make a choice in the moment and to shift if needed. You are growing as a parent as your children are growing as humans. TRUST ❤You are killing it!!

Thanks for sharing the love! You guys are the best. Oh, side note...it literally WAS a tent in the forest this time around. The days were great. The nights were...wet... I don't necessarily think it's a New England thing to "earn" your rest. I definitely fall into that camp. And heck, even then I sometimes feel guilty for not getting more done first. I have spent the last 8 or so years trying to unlearn the behaviours that were drilled into me for the first many decades of my life. It's hard work, and a work in progress. But I don't think it's a regional thing. I think it has more to do with family dynamics.

I think that the one hour a day her going to a class with her peers and a teacher is great. It teaches her independence and being away from the parents with her peers for a bit is a very good thing.

I'm absolutely sure that you can sew. Take it slowly, one step at a time. The pattern instructions are usually great and nowadays KZbin has tutorials for the pattern you're sewing.

Be happy that she is going to go to school. You will be amazed how she changes and what she learns. She will have a social life which was what made me sad.😂😂. She’s going to have a great time. It is so exciting. When they go to high school is when it’s bad as they are growing away from us. Beautiful throw!

Being 53, born and raised in the south, in TN I think it's the same everywhere. My husband is from Southern California and knowing his family and friends from there, I feel confident saying that. We are all more alike than not lol

Another lovely podcast ladies! I also feel like I have to “earn” rest and making time. I have to remind myself that slowdown is good. On Saturday afternoon our weather was spectacular so I sat down outside with my knitting and my husband joined me (with sitting, not knitting!) and we talked for almost 3 hours! It was exactly what my soul needed!

I live in Pennsylvania, and I always have my married life I felt o had to be busy working in my home when all of my work was caught up up I could sew. It was totally self inflicted, my husband was the most accommodating to me, never in 56 years did he suggest that I should be doing house tasks. He loved to se what I created.. best guy ever and he passed away 9 months ago. I still think I need to earn my knit, sew time…no on to answer to but me… A very enjoyable podcast ,this is my entertainment and me time now..

Best foodball: jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon! Sub in goat cheese for cream cheese to elevate. From a life-long Southerner… I think it’s more a personality type to want to work, work, work and then rest. Not everyone is built that way, but most are I think.

When I set down to knit or Needlepoint, it seems I have to accomplish something first! Like it's a reward! Even if it gets exciting packages in the mail, have to look around to do something! lol A Witch in training is the best!! I had that ringing bit in my ear a few years ago, was tested etc. It went away on its own! It's annoying, especially at nite!! Working on my Cozy Comfort Throw, and love it!! Halloween socks too, on the go! "Hocus Pocus! "

Oh my gosh, I'm so glad that you talked about not wanting to sleep to long because it cuts into your creative time. I have a hard time sleeping between 1 and 3 in the morning. I either get up and knit on a vanilla sock or work in a zentangle book that I'm creating. I put on KZbin where it's just instrumental until I am so sleepy I can't hold my head up. I can then get back in bead and fall asleep. Does anyone else do this?
