I thought most SFP modules are supposed to have UPC style ends plugged into them? I think the patch cable should have been APC to UPC at the chapel?

Really can’t argue with the Scout Pro 3. I’ve got one in my install case and it’s so handy. I’ve tried cutting down my bag to just the necessities and I’m still struggling not having testers on my person all the time haha. I’ve recently upgraded to the Fluke CableIq but I’m not keen on keeping that in my install bag since that’s the difference between losing 80 bucks or 1,800 bucks.

I have NEVER heard of someone having a cup of water to cool the bit. Also, a broom stick to help get the cable over drop ceiling?? Isn’t that what flow rods are used for?

Where are the videos from this Part 1... I really like you used port 24 to plug into the modem(made at myself that I never thought of that but I am still learning to effectively use patch panels). Keep up these network install videos for APs, switches and patch panels.

Hwt David, what power supply box for the switch did you use? Inside your outdoor box like a cover for power adaptor? Like how there is a lock tight ac power cord attached to it going to supply voltage, how did your trained electrician do it? What parts were needed

Hi Just a quick one. The AP in the main area with the music? If that is a NanoHD... Why not get a Black skin to cover to match the ceiling....? The nanoHD and in wall HD you can get cool covers.... Just a thought. Thanks.

Hi David! I swear if I could hire you I would, but I'm in rural Mexico, so yeah. Anyway, I want to extend a network from an office to a barn that's off-site a couple of miles away with single mode fiber. I was wondering if I could use an ONT instead of a pair of SFP adapters as those are pretty pricey around here. Many thanks!

Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. You have introduced me to the two bag idea LOL. Not sure why I have not done that yet. As far as your tools, I would suggest some upgrades to you RJ45 crimper, keystone jack crimper, and termination panels to match. I have converted from tools similar to yours to these. For the RJ45 I use the Klein Tools VDV226-110. This is a passthrough crimper which allows ease of NOT having to make sure all the pairs of wires are completely at the end inside the RJ45. Keeping in mind that these use special passthrough RJ45s. Next the keystones I use are the Hubbell keystone jacks and the termination panel to match, but the big upgrade is the crimper for these keystones. The crimper I use is the Greenlee PA8111 jack terminator. You simply lay the wires in the jack matching the color code and slide the whole jack in there and one squeeze the whole jack is crimped. These are the tools that made my job so much easier. I hope this helps and thanks again for your videos.

Probably a good idea to use a conduit for any exposed wiring. Also would be good if the box was more secure with a lock or something so people dont play with it

I would still droop the wire going into the outdoor wifi access point. Make sure it droops lower than the ethernet port so that it droops and then come back up to the ethernet port. If water gets onto the cable, it could drip and follow the cable into the ethernet port. If you droop it down lower than the port with a little extra slack, water would need to fight gravity to up back to the port.
