Use a Hoyer lift to get pt from the floor back to bed, one care hiver can drop a corner of the sheet, the sheet can rip, the pt may panick,...always use a lift machine

Never put the head of the bed lower than the feet to make your job easier, too much pressure in the brain , rather go to. the gym and get stronger,

Hello, thank you for the education. I have a question. My dad uses a cpap machine that the air tube has broken at the base of the mask. I have used tape to keep the tube from falling off. Is there are risk with using cpap in this fashion? Thank you I hope you can advise.
@corriefraser Жыл бұрын
He'll just be getting a lower CPAP than prescribed due to any leak. You can easily purchase new tubing and masks online, just search

@DavidNesbit_theTHINKER2 жыл бұрын
Within the Australian context, the Swedish SARA STEADY Machine is very helpful for single carer patient standing and transfers but it is very costly at aud$6,250 whereas there is an Australian designed alternative made by AIDACARE which is their Aspire Patient Stander Machine at ~$3,200. We recently purchased the Aspire machine and it has made life so much better (& safer) for us as we care for a high-care needs relative at home, i.e., single person care for all adls; transfers, and care.

Cpap is a continuous positive pressure which doesn't change. The patient breathes on top of the pressure. It aids oxygenation but does not support ventilation (Co2 removal). Bipap or NIPPV is an inspiratory and expiratory pressure which are different and usually synced the patient's breathing rate. This supports both oxygenation and ventilation. One is not better than the other they are indicated in different conditions.
