Even though I've loved spiders all my life I never could bring myself to pick them up. Heck I can't even bring myself to pick up a cellar spider and cellar spiders are probably the most harmless spiders on the planet lol. For whatever reason the thought of actually handling a spider makes me a bit scared.
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 6 күн бұрын
I totally understand🙌 my jumping spiders are truly my only Arachnid that I keep that I can actually comfortably handle. I've only held two of my tarantula slings, and that was on accident! But the thought of handling my bigger tarantulas and my other true spiders I just can't! I physically get scared and start to tremble around some of my spiders😅🤣🤣 even trying to hold my scorpion. Oh my lord, I was like, NOPE! The most comfortable I've gotten with my tarantulas is tong feeding, and even then, when I first started, I would shake out of fear! I myself get intimidated by my own tarantulas, and that's why I have a ton of respect for them because it's all psychological. It definitely takes time to get used to even being around spiders and keeping them in your house. I had nightmares the first few weeks after I started keeping😅

@@CrybabyTarantula Can I ask, what's the reason for you using pre-killed feeders? Is it just for the safety of the inverts you're keeping or...?
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 11 күн бұрын
@MyPetArthropods great question! I do it for a few reasons. One, I like to prekill my feeders so that they don't suffer being eaten alive. It is easier for me to remove un eaten prey because they are pre-killed. I've had to take apart enclosures due to loose live crickets. I like that it's an easy meal for the tarantulas, especially since most of mine are babies sometimes live squirming prey can be intimidating so pre killing the crickets and placing them in the enclosure for the babies to "hunt" helps to build their confidence as hunters. I also don't want my tarantulas flying around in their enclosures stressed out because there is something else alive and jumping around their enclosure, especially if they didn't want the food in the first place. It is mostly based on personal preference after weighing both pros and cons with live and unalived prey. I'd say it just makes everything easier, especially when you have a bigger collection and don't want to dig up or chase them in my pets enclosure. I don't see it as a bad thing if you prefer to feed live because I believe everyone has the right to feed their pets in the way they prefer. But yeah, hopefully that answers your question😊

They hide pretty well! They are native to where I live. This mature male, I found him in my in-laws' house in the bathroom, haha, so I thought I'd rescue him and give him a home since I had this extra treehouse crib, which my spider who just passed resided in. It's kind of funny, tbh Both spiders ended up being WC mature males😂

Can you make an in depth Pac-Man frog video please? 🐸 I’ve been doing research on them and I’m looking for how often you should feed them and how much. I also love the enclosures you have and would love to know where you got them! ☺️
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 13 күн бұрын
Hey girl! Yes! I definitely can for you:) If you have a froglet, I suggest feeding them every other day until they fatten up! Then, for juveniles and adults, you can feed two to three times a week depending on the appetite of the frog. You can feed them a mix of super or meal worms, crickets, roaches, and small frozen mice for when they are big enough. You can always cut up the insects if their still a baby, I do. And then get some repti calcium and dip the feeders in calcium once a week!! I will give them 3 to 5 insects per feeding. If they get too plump or too skinny, add more insects or lessen the amount per feeding. But you can't really go wrong with these guys. You just gotta watch their weight cause they can fatten up quick, but also, don't be afraid to feed them. I get my enclosures from tarantula cribs! You can use my affiliate code, Crybaby10, to save $$ on your order if you get some! Thank you for watching and subscribing! I will make next week's video pacman care related💖🙌 Thank you😇🥰

Do you have heat on pac frog
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 17 күн бұрын
Hi there, great question! So pacaman frog are ectotherms meaning there body temperature is determined by there environment. If you are keeping them in a room cooler than 65 degrees then I suggest using an additional heat source like a heat pad, but I would put it on the side of the tank and not the bottom since they like to burrow in the dirt. I would set the heat pad anywhere from 75 to 85 degrees during the day and 65 to 75 degrees at night! I don't use additional heat for my frogs because I do keep all of my animals in my walk in closet where I can keep the temperature and humidity controlled to my liking. Usually the room doesn't exceed 80 degrees because I have a crested gecko and above 80 degrees could impair him. But with that said that's why you don't see me using heat pads on the sides of my tanks because I do have a heater in with my pets that keeps it at about that 77 degree mark during the day and lowest 68 at night! I hope this helps😇🥰

This will be my first time doing it so needless to say I'm nervous about the transferring part😅 After seeing how you handled the situation I think I have a good idea on how I'm gonna do it so thank you for this video 🙏🏾 And those enclosures look great💯
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 19 күн бұрын
Of course!!! I'm glad my video gave you useful information🥰 rehousing tarantulas can be intimidating. the rule of thumb is to keep calm, and if they're going to run, let them. I used to try and get them in there quickly and shut the door, but I've had close calls, almost squishing my spiders trying to prevent escapes, haha, so if they're gonna go, they're going to run. You would be surprised at how chill most tarantulas are when it comes to rehousing, though. But I can tell you, the more you practice rehousing these guys, the easier and less intimidating it gets, good luck friend!😇🥰💝

@@CrybabyTarantula I think I'm going to record it and if it goes well I'll post it hopefully you'll get to see it😁 I got 1 of the zoo med 12x12x18 terrariums from my local pet store for my avicularia avicularia. Is there anything you could suggest I add to its enclosure to make it more comfortable.
@CrybabyTarantula
@CrybabyTarantula 19 күн бұрын
@djzerojeager6019 Do it!🤙 yes, I have a few suggestions. I also have an Avicularia Avicularia, her name is Alfredo😁 I suggest putting a cork bark tube in the enclosure that is long enough to bury and almost reach the top of the enclosure, I'd leave like an inch and a half gap at the top for them to be able to crawl I the top of it. It's even better if you can find a cork tube with a hole in the side of it so there's two access points. I also suggest a soft hanging plant to stick to the side of the enclosure, like one that isn't hard plastic so they can easily climb through and not poke there eyes out😅 or you can use a live pothos plant and just use those little suction cup things that hold things in place and stick it to the wall. For an example of what I'm talking about, check out my pokie rehouse video or my rehousing with my p. Irminia! I would also put spaghnum moss in there as well, and avics like it a little more humid. You can also provide a shallow water dish and just put it on the floor. Your avic will climb down and get a drink! So, with all that said, make sure to provide plenty of coverage on the walls and give them a cork bark tube hide so they feel like the tree spider they are😇
