Worked just like you said and by updating. It fixed my problem when I answer the phone while driving and receiving a call that did not allow me or the other person to hear each other while connected to Android Auto. Now it works perfectly. I have a 2018 Ford Explorer in case anyone is wondering. Thank you for sharing!!!

I have a 2016 Mustang gt. When I bought it, it had sync 3 version 1.0. I used the usb method to update it and it took 2 tries. It took between 1-2 hours for me and you have to leave the usb in when it’s done, turn the car off, open the door, turn the car back on, then it’s updated and you can remove the usb. After doing this, I followed the instructions in the video and installed the usb. It now works perfectly. Thank you for the video!

exFAT formatted USB is important. i misread the directions ..... "FAT32 (for SYNC versions **previous**(older) than SYNC 3)" ... mine already has sync 3, just not the newest flavor. so exFAT was my issue

Years later… it’s nearly impossible to find the matching unit in a 2017.

Oh ah one more thing. Not a single cast iron suspension part or shaft had any paint from the factory. So I painted all of those parts while waiting for the caliper paint to dry.

I didn't see this video. I was going to make my own but just did all 4 calipers without the camera. It is true. Using hi-temp engine enamel with a parts brush worked great. I had to buy a spray can. Use gloves. Sprayed the paint into a jar and brushed on from there. Easy as can be and the paint flows out perfectly. It was in the upper 60's out of direct sun. 3 light coats and a 4th touch up coat. A little taping off to avoid any spots you don't want paint. Takes about an hour a caliper.

I tried this. Downloaded it to flash drive and inserted into USB. Showed it was UpdatingSystem Software. Wasn't necessary to leave the vehicle running. Keep the key in acc. setting and checked on it every 30min or so. Completely gave up and pulled it out after 2hrs of stupidness. Woke up this morning to find it had updated itself without even having the key in the ignition.

This works great. I was able to get the part out of the console just using my fingernails. Tip: Once that this is out, unplug the other than that is on it and it will come out farther making it easier to get the plugs off the USB module. That other cable is a lot shorter than the ones which go to the USB module.

Very easy! Just turn on your vehicle's Settings auto updates, plug in your in range wifi router password and, VOILA!. 3.4 appears within minutes. I did my '19 F150 and it was beyond simple. My wife's '17 Escape Titanium with an early version of Sync 3 is struggling to do an update though so may need to revert to the thumb drive method. I'm an electronic Luddite so that may not happen real soon.
