i'm kinda confused, why didn't you mega evolove manectric? After all, his mega evolution buffs your special attack and gives you ability intimidate which would lower the Salamence's defence and then you would do bigger damage. It's ofc a question although congrats on beating the Champion

Nice, i recommend a romhack called "Pokemon Rejuvenation". It's a long game with everything unique. the music, the story, the sprites, the shinies etc. it doesnt have "fakemon" but they do their own twist called "crest" and aevian. pretty similiar to alola. not to spoil but there is a good ending and bad ending.

That's kinda normal, really. Talonflame has flying type so it won't miss out on any STAB damage from non-fire type moves. I have a Crobat, it has poison and flying type but I don't let it learn any poison moves.
