Mr. Mintz has a similarity with the great Michael Rabin. Both could call forth a very muscular technique that was tied to excellent musicianship. A truly great artist!

Я впервые увидел Леонида Борисовича в 4,5 года у нас дома, и он поразил меня навсегда, это Бог скрипки, он оставил в моей жизни глубокий след, и вот после этого я и начал учиться играть на скрипке, Коган был самой музыкой ,и к сожалению не смог выбраться из ссср и спастись, он умер как настоящий рыцарь скрипки в пути и в обнимку с ней, как же мне повезло видеть и слушать этого Гения живьём

He may not have a extremely dynamic phrasing as some other interpretations did but his ability to sustain the tension in a phrase is so mesmerizing

In my opinion, the performances of Paganini's first concerto by Kogan and Hirshon are the pinnacle of virtuosity, technical perfection, and the cantilena are from both artists superb!!!

Ценнейший материал для художников и ваятелей - в юности в 1987 году в рабочей общаге г.Владимира сделал из пенобетона и шпаклёвки портрет Когана - мне было 24 года...позднее он стоял в холле музучилища Владимира. Потом его прибрал к себе препод училища - по сути украл...сейчас, когда мне перевалило за 60 - хотелось бы повторить его образ. В 17 лет мне здорово повезло сделать совместную с ним фотографию...
