I disagree. You waste your time as well. You might slip up. They can clone your voice. They know the phone number is active. It's best to screen calls and not answer noncontacts.
@MatthewOBrien31419 күн бұрын
Yes, you are wasting your time but that is to consume the scammers time so they don’t scam someone else. If lots of people wasted the scammers time, maybe they would stop since it would not be worthwhile

The people mailing you checks are actually victims of the scammers thinking they are someones personal accountant. so in fact your wasting a victims time. They post jobs saying they need someone with a printer and have them create a fedex\ups account under the victims name and they send out dozens of checks but when its time for payday the vicim gets shafted with no paycheck for their time and a huge fedex bill.

omd's please slooow down whatever it is your taking and think of something origional to tackle this like peoples scammer payback center or perogi using an earlier version of program/ai its come a long way since! NOT the stupidity of using/wasting human time n resources just to waste scammer time? Just Wow!
@zinnburban20 күн бұрын
The problem is, when they mail you the check they're using someone else's shipping account number which makes you an accessory to the theft. Which means company is out that money and or time to get reimbursed by the shipping company, and close down their shipping account, and start a new. Find a better use of your time. Start a business.

How do you know how the scammers is using someone else’s account?

usually the checks arent sent by them directly they have others who print and pay for mailing checks. so becareful you could be costing someone else moneyand time besides the scammer
@MatthewOBrien31421 күн бұрын
How does that work? How would they get someone to send a check without paying for the postage?
@Llakar22 күн бұрын
You don't want to waste your time if the scammer is a computer. However, it sounds like the best scenario is if we can leverage a computer to scam the scammer. We need to develop ScamGPT or something like that to waste their time.
@MatthewOBrien31421 күн бұрын
Yeah good idea. Short of that we can crowdsource our time to waste human scammers time.

Very informative. Some years ago my wife and I were driving around the South Island in New Zealand and happened to notice a Giant Sequoia by a small river. A beautiful, symmetrical specimen with incredibly dense branches. I measured its height to be about 40m and the volume of the trunk about 160 cubic meters. Considering that the tree must have been less than 160 years old, its average growth rate has been greater than 1 cubic meter per year. Considering the cubic function, it is probably gaining 3 cubic meters per year now. That's about 8 liters a day. More than I can drink, let alone grow...

thank you bro, I got very frustrated at this when it did the same nonsense when I plugged something in, more people should be aware of just how innacurate this tool can be for math. I noticed this when I started peeling my potatoes. It seems like it makes a lot less but I think some of that has to do with the extra fiber in the skin too? Russets seem to peel a lot of flesh with the peel too compared to these yams I just peeled anyway
