I've always loved the link between the Cleric Beast and Laurence themes - with the latter's main motif being one note different to the former. In the little transition between the two tracks, I tried to show that similarity more clearly as the Cleric Beast portion of the track ended. The whole Laurence section was full of fun bits to write for, I especially enjoyed changing the slow choral section in the original to be a pumping metal section in this! (Around 3:28 onwards). Then there's the second solo - matching the emotional vibes of the original Cello solo called for something special, so I used (and abused) the Sustainiac pickup on my Schecter Synyster Custom to dig into the feels. Really love how this part came out, and how it leads into the end climax. Oh, and the first solo on the JP Majesty was fun as well - just something silly, chaotic and largely unmusical to go along with the horror of the Cleric Beast :) The storytelling in the Laurence track is amazing - starting off with the very catholic-church-sounding choir section (to represent him as the First Vicar), building into something curious yet sinister as he discovers the strength of the Blood, then coming to a sudden halt to represent his realisation of his folly (the Fear the Old Blood part), and the almost tragic cello solo and ending as he laments his fate, created by his own ambition. Then, as it all ends, we fade back into the Cleric Beast motif - since we know that Laurence was the very first of the Church to be transformed into one of these beasts.
