Sure, you can use any spray that works for you. It is important to produce a durable finish that will seal and protect the decals so they do not rub off when you use the ball

mysubbuteo I'm doing the players at the moment using humbrol acrylic spray. It's leaving a horrible milky residue?

All acrylic varnishes, mainly matt and especially humbrol are prone to frosting or fogging. I had to switch to vallejo satin and spray in warm dry conditions to eradicate the effect. Keep the can in room temperature and spray in as dry environment as possible. Placing the figures near a low heat source (radiator) immediately after varnishing also helps.

thank you. If your figures have now turned white because of the varnish, try to spray one more layer using the tips I mentioned. It will help restore the overall clarity of the varnish to some degree.

You make this look so easy! Tried my first team last night and was a nightmare! I bought the liquids to soften and set the decals but after using the red one, to get the decal to move off the paper, the decal all wrinkled up and was unusable :(
