I worked for a Satellite Company in Illinois, that subcontracted a job to run Hard line cable for a new Cable Tv network, in a town ! I pulled the Cable off the spool, by hand ! By bending the cable over my shoulder, and walking with it ! Needless to say, the guy that owned the business was a drunk dumb ass !

yes, many installer pull the cable by hand, its a hard job, if could have a machine, then will save labor~~

@@wirenettech Indeed....! It was very labor intensive, to say the least ! I was fairly new out of the Marine Corps, where I was a Mortar man, and unbeknownst to the owner, used to humping the mortar up and down mountain sides, so steep that my nose was literally inches off the ground ! You would have thought we were mountain goats ! Of course much younger, and fit ! As I said the owner had his issues, as there were alternative ways we could have pulled the cables ! Probably the hardest part of pulling manually, was trying to get traction as you pulled the cable leaning forward with the cable over your shoulder ! It was ridiculous, but when your an employee, you do what your told ! Lol !
