I had the 5 string version in the same color (purchased new in 2004). I regret selling it to this day. The Q sweep on the mid control was a very cool feature.

This seems only necessary when the button is so stripped that the screw won't even grip because of how enlarged the hole has become. I've never had a problem with the toothpick/wood glue method. All I do is put glue in first (to the top), fill the hole with a toothpick, and screw it in while the glue is wet. Wait 24 hours to be safe before using the strap.

I had this model about 10 years ago. Fantastic player. Heavy. Sustain for years. Mine fell off a wall and cracked the neck behind the nut. No shop would touch it. Never played again.

If you want a cheap fun mod platform these are great. Hardtail that is, id rather eat than play a sub 1000 series floyd.

I own the original prototype for this model. It has cream pearloid binding around body, neck, and headstock. Great guitar. I eventually purchased a second one in black flame maple. I'm quite happy with them. I like the separate volume knobs layout. With a Tonerider Rebel 90 in the neck and a SD P-Rail in the bridge, the black one is a versatile rock monster. Stylistically, , they're kinda tele meets firebird.

I have a similar amp, I ran the headphones out into my audio interface and added a 4x12 cab simulator to it on Bandlab and I actually got it to sound like a fairly decent hi gain amp 😸 check out my cover of Slipknot's "Eyeless" for an example, it actually sounds pretty good for a practice amp

I bought a Sonic Plus II jungle kit for $350 from Guitar Center and use the 16 inch bass drum as a floor tom with a WorldMax floor tom cradle (currently using a 22 inch RMV kick drum). Don't believe the naysayers, these are fantastic drums!

That clipping sounds great, sits back in the clean mix. I want a pedal that sounds like this. ...The Sparkle Drive is a similar idea, but more of a tubscreamer sound.

Funny story: I was just going through a box of papers in my music room and stumbled upon a manual for this amp. I barely remember buying it. I think I got it to go to a buddy’s house and jam in his basement. I have mostly pro gear and at the time I was gigging every weekend. Heavy amps are not for carrying around so I bought this probably from Musicians Friend. When I finally brought it to his house (first use) I wasn’t impressed (I’m accustomed to a nice 100w tube amp). My buddy seemed to enjoy it so I sold it to him that night. I had completely forgotten about it (probably 20+ years ago) and when I found the manual, I drew a blank. Wondered why I had it. Then the memory started kicking in. It’s part of getting old. I believe the models were the reason I didn’t like it. I prefer Line6 or Boss modeling minimally…but onstage I don’t use modeling. Only for studio work. It wasn’t terrible, just not worth recording with. I had a Boss pedalboard and two modelers that blow away the sound of this unit. I HAVE used the Behringer version of a Line6 Pod. Very nice! Behringer stuff is hit & miss.

Man I lucked out with a studio pro 40 from the 80s for 20usd. Just had to clean out one pot, dust, clean tolex, and pull dog hair out of the grill. Came with an eminence designed 12" round back speaker. Love the sound!

I have a Peavy Vegas 400 amp w/ 15 "black widow speaker , The amp sounds great but when you turn it on it makes a loud popping sound just once . I have had it looked at , they say it's just fine . It seems to me that this could damage the speaker itself . I don't know what is making this sound but it almost sounds like it comes from the speaker itself . Do you have any ideas on this ? Thanks

this is an old video but whatever Some years ago a guitarist friend of mine told me about this shop who had this vintage marshall 4x12 for 100€. I rushed on the deal and went to check it out. I was brought in their *warehouse*, to learn that the deal was 2 cabs sold together. The Marshall for 100€ and some weird unmarked oversized 1x12. Opened up the cab held with -ffs- flathead screws to see a speaker with not 4 or 8 but *6 screws(??)*. The name "altoparlante" and something else that I can't remember. From some research I did it was supposed to be a 70's/80's sub. after some bargaining I got the whole deal for 100€. I ended up selling the marshall cab a year later, and I still have it to this day. Sounds huge for a 1x12, and does low mids real nice, amazing with dedicated speakers for mids and highs, as well as a real subwoofer.
