A Calcium supplement and an organic 5-4-0 slow release feet and a worm casting tea would help quite a bit after that phase of getting its first true leaves.

Your strawberries are flowering and fruiting too early because of some stress. You’re either feeding too much or too little. Also, check out the lumen output from your lights and what temperature the light is.

May I suggest wrapping the hydro setup in mylar? Helps lower water temp. Also beneficials are the way to go, southern AG and Orca. I have had water temps at 80 and avoided root rot. Peak colony size @ 48 hrs so dose every 3 days between res change. Plenty of aeration as well.
@tandefan12

I have tried a sterile setup and while the h2o2 adds oxygen, it just isn’t worth it. You will have much faster root growth as well with the Orca added. Only time I use peroxide is when cleaning equipment between runs.

many people add calmag to coco, specially iif its a cheaper coco cheap coco also contains sea salt (and should be rinsed before use) perlite is also a soil improvement, that contains no fertilizer it have many bennefits transporting gro media from the other side of the world should not be done local gro media is the best the less fertilizer you add the less ends up in nature, that is 1 bennefit with soil. you need less fertilizer if you keep it natural and you dont feed it chemical fertilizer over and over again

Hey how do you sanitize your trays and containers between runs? Also what so you do to treat soil for bugs and fungus?
@lukegoforth7151
@lukegoforth7151 3 күн бұрын
There are a lot of methods you can use to clean and sanitize trays. The methods that work good for me is I put the trays in hot water and scrub them and then wash them with soap and then rinse again. But make sure that water is not to hot or it will melt or damage the trays also get as much of the soap off as possible I recommend about 5 rinses after. We have never treated the soil for bugs and fungus before, but we have fruit fly catchers all over the greenhouse.

@ be careful in your greenhouse. Always wash your hands and shower after working in there. Fungus gnats means there is anerobic decomposition. This type of decomposition creates toxins and an environment for pathogens to flourish. They will hop from soil and can get into our body and trigger our immune system. Idk if you ever seen larvae under the microscope or investigated them but they essentially the maggots you find in the trash can. Same with doing composting indoors. We have to be careful. You could end up dead suddenly from a bacterial/fungal infection in no time. You’ll wake up puking and sick, your body will shut down in under 24h. It happens more than you would want to know. The flies themselves can transmit disease via the air as well, landing on you/ur food etc. Bird flu is common again right now for example. Bird flu can be transmitted via insect in this manner. Be careful! Also the USA department of agriculture is currently investigating the soil across America. It’s loaded with heavy metals and microplastics. If you get a bad bag of soil and you consume that plant, you are ingesting that as well. Too much of that, and you have cancer, digestive issues, hormone irregularities. It’s a nightmare man. My point is.. growing your own veggies and consuming a whole food diet is not as safe as people think. You need to be careful and practice exceptional hygiene like a science lab especially if your growing in your home. I love your progress and your videos. Thank you so much for sharing and stick with it! Are you in school for biology, chemistry etc yet? It will help immeasurably! Taking any agriculture or horticulture classes?

How do u decide the wattage of grow light required for each plant and how do u decide which light to purchase? I just bought 40watt grow light 20w grow light x2 for 10 indoor plants 5 of them are mid size and 1 big size and 2 small size u think 40watts will be enough for them?

When I built my set up I had no clue what I was going to grow so I ended up buying 2 150watt grow lights for each shelf both grow lights are about 2 feet long and those have worked great the last few months. If you are planning to just use those grow lights for that plant I would recommend researching what the plant would thrive in.

When I clicked on "grow room" I had something else in mind, but this is cool too. I love aquaponics systems. I had tilapia in a tank in Costa Rica and I grew salad stuff, strawberries and other stuff. Then in NC I had the same goldfish for 5 years and I grew more salad and strawberries but I also did a dual root zone setup with tomatoes and peppers. I also took water from my systems to use with my indoor garden. I've never tried hydroponics with just water, but I have been using Fox Farms liquid nutrients in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil for my indoor medicinal cannabis plants. The liquid stuff makes it easy to fix deficiencies if I have any. I'd ratger just grow in organic living soil. Have you tried growing pineberries? They're like strawberries but white/pink. They grow with strawberries. You might want to play with some.

You are legally allowed to grow cilantro from the age of 16 if your parents agree to it, for strawberries I couldn't find any laws but as a German I'd say always treat everything as illegal until proven legal, just to be safe.
@comfortablynumb9342
@comfortablynumb9342 12 күн бұрын
@DieselCheese yeah Germany was a lot of fun but there are definitely too many rules. I had never seen people wait for the light to cross the street where I grew up in Florida. We just crossed when no cars were coming. Not the Germans, they wait all orderly. I spent a lot of time in Central America too. That's the exact opposite, almost anarchy. That's where I fit in better but I want to go back to Germany someday. Now cannabis is legal so it could be more fun. I got plenty in Hamburg back in 2001-02 but it should be even better now.

if you regulate the room temp it should more or less go hand in hand with the temps the water needs lamps do provide alot of heat, the chance of creating big temp changes if you dont run 24 hours and if you only heat the water with changing temps the hymidity also changes and are harder to control
