dude i actually got jumpscared cause i used to be on the champions of equestria server like a decade ago omg, the server's race classes were pretty cool and the community was extremely nice. Not much else I can remember though, since it was so long ago but i definitely recognized the spawn and the first farm you encountered

The ent maps are for an old mod called Ent Mod, which let you basically play a super primitive version of Gmod where you could build things. Never got to experience it myself, but it looks insanely cool.

I wish I played Grig's quest when I was in Mr. Borneman's class. He was my teacher for my senior year (2020-2021) during the covid lockdowns. Because of him I see the world differently, he really made us think about everything around us and to critically think about the world. It was a about a year after I graduated that I received a text from an old friend, they told me about Mr.Borneman's passing and provided me a link to a google drive that archived some things to remember him by. I grew to really like him and his class so it was some sad news to hear, then seeing his server pop up in a youtube video seemed crazy to me. But I'm glad this will give some recognition to his amazing minecraft world. May you rest in peace Mr. Borneman.

itch and Roblox are arguably the modern successors to flash. Easy and quick access to game creation for pc, with a primary children demographic. Less true for itch, mostly tuber bait but there are a few standouts like VotV, OG Inscryption, ludum dares, etc. Plus they are easy to convert into something a creator can monetize. Iirc the Lethal Company dev started out on Roblox. Amateur and indie devs cut their teeth on them. Something that wasnt mentioned was the sheer amount of adult content, both in games and animation (and sometimes both). We've all been flashbanged by the occasional boob animation. Hell for a long time before FnF, adult content was one of THE only things keeping newgrounds alive (and flash as a whole). Some of those creators are still going strong today, like zone, sdt (if you know you know), etc. I'm sure you can trace some of those to more 'prominent' areas in the industry, in animation or adult content creation. Kind of crazy how many made it out from niche passion projects and hobbies into full fledged careers. Hopefully things like Roblox and itch keep the torch lit.

Flash games really marked a generation. Something similar will never happen again. I still play my favorite Flash games thanks to Flashpoint to this very day and even helped curate and submit a dozen or so games to their archive. It's also interesting how in these videos rarely anyone mentions Kongregate. It was my main place for Flash games. I still use it daily to get the BOTD haha.

you would be suprised on the amount of "cults" in osrs (oldschool runescape). they are all, if not most, like the Cabbage cult. just a group of people in specific clan doing goofy stuff. they are hard to find sometimes but you stay on the f2p worlds long enough you'll find them
