This recalls to me the fact that Debussy was influenced by his hearing of Gamelan music. Marimba really highlights some of those harmonic qualities. It would be great to listen to all of Debussy's works on marimba.

This video has been immensely helpful in learning how to play this piece. I use a little bit of different sticking when it's not written out but learning the movement, the phrasing as well as the rits and accels has been made easier thanks to this video.
