David Bowie didn’t need to stop this woman as she exposed herself. Her success was completely dependent on another persons success, and she still failed miserably to obtain anything remotely successful even exploiting that she was once married to Bowie. those with a even shred of intelligence, see her for exactly what she is. Yes, its sad, but whats even worse is she abandoned their son and never wanted to see her own son even after Bowie passed. In an interview the person said “My dream for you is that your son gets in contact with you.” and Angie’s reply was: “Oh no, thank you though, I appreciate it.” Thats about all one needs to know to surmise just how awful this woman is.

Dicen que todo se puede reemplazar. They say everything can be replaced Dicen que toda distancia no es cercana They say every distance is not near Entonces recuerdo cada cara So I remember every face De cada hombre que me puso aquí Of every man who put me here Veo mi luz brillar I see my light come shinin' Desde el oeste hasta el este From the west down to the east Cualquier día ahora, cualquier día ahora Any day now, any day now Ya no voy a estar detenido I shall be released Dicen que todo hombre necesita protección. They say every man needs protection Dicen que todo hombre debe caer They say that every man must fall Sin embargo, juro que veo mi reflejo Yet I swear I see my reflection En algún lugar tan alto por encima de este muro Somewhere so high above this wall Veo mi luz brillar I see my light come shinin' Desde el oeste hasta el este From the west down to the east Cualquier día ahora, cualquier día ahora Any day now, any day now Ya no voy a estar detenido I shall be released Ahora, allá está un hombre en esta multitud solitaria Now, yonder stands a man in this lonely crowd Un hombre que jura que no tiene la culpa. A man who swears he's not to blame Todo el día lo escucho gritar tan fuerte All day long I hear him shouting so loud Sólo grita que ha sido incriminado Just crying out that he's been framed Veo mi luz brillar I see my light come shinin' Desde el oeste hasta el este From the west down to the east Cualquier día ahora, cualquier día ahora Any day now, any day now Ya no voy a estar detenido I shall be released

Holds up well against Ernest Tubb’s original which country music fans consider the definitive version, even the ONLY one. This classic was written by Texan Arlie Duff.

1:10 John Corbett kept that sword. He also said kept the inner guts of that piano in a large garbage bag, When Corbett moved from Seattle the movers thought it was trash in the garbage bag and threw the rest of the crushed piano pieces away.. 5:48 Cosmetology wise he decided on this own to cut his long hair on a Sunday during taping and reaped an whirlwind of anger from the producers who called him into the office and yelled at him about his sudden decision. Yet they worked his sudden short hair into the script and it worked out. 7:19 Corbett says he owns almost all of Chris Stevens clothes from wardrobe. He took them from the prop department trailer.

I have always loved this story. DNA…for better (in this case!) ….or worse, is no joke. As a lifelong devotee of David Crosby, the first time I heard this first CPR album, and this song, I couldn’t stop playing it. James is not just “some piano player.” His chords, voice, and songwriting are pure Crosby with a twist. RIP David. I sometimes found you to be an opinionated, pompous pain in the ass when I I’d have to sit through your predictably long rant about The Military Industrial Complex at concerts, but once you start singing, I’m in Heaven. No musician has ever moved me like David…except for, maybe, Joni Mitchell. And guess who “discovered” Joni Mitchell. Thank you David…and James. Uncanny.

That surely is a somewhat contentious statement, that drugs are not harmful to children but pacify them. Seeing it was uttered by someone who was heavily addicted himself, it is probably merely self vindication.

@@ClevelandLiveMusic Sorry - as you will know, I always research about artists I don’t know much (or anything) about. Not knowing their voices, I would equally not have known whether it was Lou Reed or John Cale who made the remark. Wikipedia, however, states about Lou Reed (and I quote) “ … for a long period after” - referring to 1974 - “Reed’s work did not translate into sales, leading him deeper into drug addiction and alcoholism. Reed cleaned up in the early 1980s”. Apologies for casting aspersions if this is untrue, I relied solely on information as posted. And of course, no blight on his output as an artist. Cale apparently was given opiates as a child to help him sleep when troubled by bronchial problems. No surprise, the poor child became dependent on them. As an adult he “had taken most of the available drugs in the United States” according to his own statement. To sum up, the remark was therefore probably made by John Cale, who certainly experienced being pacified by having heavy doses of the stuff. He, too, has cleaned up, his only “vice” being coffee.

Those two had a very complicated relationship. Total love/hate. Reed got rid of Cale in 1968 and it really f##ked Cale up for many years. Reed never had another collaboration as challenging as Cale again in his career - Reed made some great records on his own , there’s no denying that. However, Reed never made a truly great album again until he made the “New York” album and the album he with Cale after that - “Songs for Drella”. That said - “The Blue Mask” and “Street Hassle” are brilliant as well. But Reed and Cale were a hell of a team. That was the problem. Reed had to be the star - Cale was/is the superior collaborator. That was what drove Reed nuts - that and the fact that Cale rejected Reed’s sexual advances in the mid sixties. What Reed didn’t understand was that Cale was sexually abused by a priest/minister when he was young. Cale still loves Reed to this day, even if it was a f##ked up relationship. We don’t sometimes choose the people who are important to us. That’s life. Postscript “Transformer” and “Berlin” are masterpieces, but so are “Paris 1919” and “Fear”. Horses for courses.j
