Let`s put things into perspective shall we. He only kicked a ball around a field. Why are so many people speaking as though he was some kind of god? If all these millionaire footballers were to go on strike for one month , nobody `s lives would be affected. Now what would happen if all HGV drivers were to strike for a month. Yes, when looked at in those terms yo will agree which profession is more vital and worthy of respect. But nobody does!!! Why? It is hyped by the media and yo go along with it.

Scholes was and always will be an artist. His control, his passing, his shooting, his ability to remain one of the most humble human beings that has ever played at the top level. I was lucky enough to see him play a few times and by God what a player, no one could get near him. I remember my Dad saying to me "he's like a hot knife through butter" and that's the best way I've ever heard anyone describe him. In the ever eternal Lampard - Gerrard - Scholes debate over who was the best I'd say Scholes everytime. Oh and I'm a Liverpool supporter of 40 years. Gerrard was outstanding as was Lampard but Scholes was on his very own level. Even when I saw Zidane and Ronaldo play I wasn't as amazed as when I saw Scholes. The only other player I've seen that comes close was Zidane. Scholes was better. Genuinely hope Utd get back to being more competitive soon, its no fun when they're crap lol.

All these who always say the quote how does it feel to be the best player in the world and if people knew it wasn't Zidane it was actually Edgar David's and if you don't believe me it's even on the back of paul Scholes book which I read regularly because he is my football hero.

One of the two brains behind manutd dominance in 90s and 20s.He is the best midfielder in the last 30 years alongside zizou. A man who can control the tempo of the whole match....a pure midfield general.

It shouldn’t even be a question really. I can understand Lampard vs Gerrard but Scholes was on another level to them and anyone with a football brain can tell you that. Why all the great players around the world would laugh at putting Gerrard and esp Lampard ahead of him. The stats mean nothing as there’s more to football then assist and score. Whose controlling the games fir the players to assist and score, whose starting of the moves , whose making the pass that starts the goal , whose controlling the tempo for them players. Scholes was a box to box player early on before the other two were about but he wanted to be more involved in the build up of the game and the control of it. I suppose the only stat you should look at is how many games they were part of that won and Scholes won much more then the other two and that’s the only stat that counts as it’s a team game.

As a Liverpool fan, he was one of.the ONLY Man.Utd player i really admired,respected amd loved watching him play. The perfect player. Respect.

He came out of retirement halfway through 2011-12 season to help them win a 20th league title and his 11th personally in 2012-2013 season to then hang up his boots again. His passing, vision, movement, aggression were top drawer and had over 100 goals to his name and even had a knack of scoring the odd screamer! He is one of the very best midfielders to ever grace the pitch and is one of a kind 👑
