Yeah all the sb characters are pretty solid, I think you underrated squidward quite a bit though, he's the best one by a pretty fair margin, just held back slightly by a fairly high skill ceiling

There’s a cool thing that I just found out with mist step and it’s that if you start attacking right as you’re exiting the move you can cancel the animation and surprise attack leading to more combos
