@ I understand and in reality real buddhists are atheist - not many understand anything about buddhism and of course, with 400.000 male monks and 80.000 female monks there have to be cheaters that damage the philosophy badly. I have been coming here in the real rural Thailand for 16 years, living full time for 10 years and have never witnessed anything "out of the order" from our local monks, never tried to exploit the community. But of course I have been to many many temples and some places I do not like cos it is like donate donate donate - like they are "possessed" and I definetely do not support those places. Maybe it happens because the two different kinds of buddhism - the monks in our area is Theravada monks, the "original" kind of jungle monks/walking monks

@@JensChanthasookSommer I have been living in Thailand (Hua Hin) since 2011. My wife is from a small village in Isaan. At the beginning I often went to the temple with her. But soon I saw that like all religions, it's all about controlling people. They are considered stupid/uneducated and money is taken out of their pockets. What is very disturbing to me is the backward image of women and the instilled submissiveness towards the monks. I suspect/claim that there is abuse in every temple. In small village communities, however, the victims don't dare to say anything because everyone knows everyone else.

Thank you! The Ake Panich Tuk Tuk Factory in Udon (6 2, หมากแข้ง เมือง Udon Thani 41000) was, as I know, the first to launch the standard "Isaan Tuk Tuk" some 40 years ago. It is a "big" factory in the center of Udon with Tuk Tuk´s in 2 stories. They get some of the parts, engine, front and more from China. Some of the engines are built on the former Honda Rebel engine (China bought many years ago license to manufacture "rebranded" Honda Rebel´s, under the name of Lifan and others (I had a motorbike in Denmark of Lifan - I loved it) and now I am on no. 2 Lifan Tuk Tuk! There are several models from the smallest with 130 cc, 170 cc, 200 cc and the big one (mine) with 650cc Daihatsu engine, manuelt gear! Extremely kind and helpful service, manager (son of owner) speaks fluently english

Yes, but those traditions are long gone, here in Thailand they have been able to maintain it and I see travelling monks almost everytime I go for a ride in my car or my tuk-tuk! Sometimes 1 monk, sometimes just a few but occasionally many monks in one long line with the last ones carrying the buddhist flag - they impress me a lot, kind and nice people

Well it ain't any rocket, but I would not advice going over 65 km/h due to safety and the rpm will be quite over what is pleasant 🤣And it will be a little to thirsty! Usually she runs nicely around 60 km/h cos you have to be very careful driving in the "scooterlane" and observant for cars and motorbikes coming from the small sidestreets and does not care for who is coming from their right, they just can't find out to hit the brakes in time 🤣

Yes, we are a few farangs up here who drive Tuk Tuk for fun, strange enough it is not registered with number plates and, until now, nobody have drivers license for driving Tuk Tuk! There is actually a special license for “three wheelers”. I asked the shop for number plates and driver’s licenses and they looked at me like I was fallen down from the sky 🤓 and I only have insurance for my passengers! That’s why big trucks are scared of coming too close to a Tuk Tuk on the road 😎

I agree with you 100%! Up here in Isaan we stick to the Buddhist philosophy, way of life and here is almost no people of that ideology - a few families because of the big new universities but we rarely notice them! I have a feeling that the Government will do everything to keep the majority down south and I am very happy with that! Have lived all my work life in Denmark and have been Deputy Commander of Police, in an area outside the Capitol, Copenhagen where the first many “Musselman” came back in the ‘70s! Have had more than enough of that segment 😎😎😎
